And yes they are all added to the ASNSM in comp sci

And don't forget CLEP's through modern states and onlinedegree.com, you could an associates degree for really cheap.

And Saylor

While one could easily get enough credits for a associates degree for less than $100, they still have to pay the new $1000+ cornerstone and residency wavier and other fees. Once you add that up, it actually costs about the same as associates at my local community college. With the new policies in place, it seems solely going for associates at the Big 3 is usually not a good value. On the other hand, my local CC accepts up to 30 credits for CLEP and once you factor that in, an associates from a local CC would actually be cheaper than the big 3 and could be done in about the same time too.

Associate's of Science for natural science and math. TESU currently offers it with 3 concentrations: math, computer science, and biology. The nice thing is none of them currently require a capstone course and they're very flexible, making it fairly simple to complete one along with a bachelors if one has enough credits in the subject.

I believe Biology is the only one that can't be completely tested out of (save for the cornerstone), correct?

Correct. The bio asnsm requires general biology 2 and lab. Currently, there aren't any known alternative sources for the bio 2 lab.

Wow. It looks like they broke down the individual subcourses and awarded credit based on those, jumping from 6 to 10 credits as part of the change. That is awesome!

I always thought they should be broken down that way anyway, and worth more credits given the length of the courses. Glad to see that it came to pass. Smile

Getting an AA/AS at TESU, especially with the change to the cornerstone, is not worth it at all - but getting it added to your degree is a great deal, if you wanted to go that way.

If you wanted to try to switch to COSC, or get a BOG AAS, I guess those are options.

I wish there was an inexpensive option for an AA like WGU - maybe at half the price, and half the length.

It's about time they gave them more credits. Those courses are long. There are shorter ACE/NCCRS courses getting 3+ credits.

Anyone have any clue if they did any substantial changes to the curriculum? I'm not sure how anyone would determine that I guess.

If one needed the extra credits but did the courses under the old system, could they retake the courses now and get the larger credit? i don't see why not, but i don't know how that works.
