How do you keep track of your progress?
#11
OMG so complicated. My plan was simple - I took 1 course at a time, sent it to ACE when done, highlighted it on my spreadsheet, and then moved onto the next course. I never had the money to do multiple after I paid for the 4 tests in a single day thing once. Tried to keep it to $100/mo or less.

I think I got my spreadsheet in pretty good shape and I'll be using it to keep track of the credits that I've earned vs the credits that I still need, but I was wondering if you used a different method for tracking and visualizing your progress towards your degree. Not only in terms of amounts of credits but also to keep track of progress within each course. For example, for an individual course I'd like to keep track with something like:

Spanish 101
Chapters Finished: 5/22
Assignments Completed: 0/2
Final Exam Approved: No

I know each study platform has some sort of progress visualization, but I was wondering if you used something like a Dashboard were you could see your progress across all platforms.

Also, if you organize your studies for a particular month or period of time in a specific way, I'd love to see how you do it. I love to keep things organized, and having a way to clearly visualize my progress helps a lot with my motivation. I hope you'd share your methods with the rest of us!

Thanks,
Maxi

Are you a computer person? Can you build that? I need what you're describing. I've never had a good way to do this, and I'm hyper-organized but completely un ....whatever it is when you work with numbers and spreadsheets and such. I have 2 kids at the same school working different degrees and my brain hurts all the time. I still don't know what UL credits my oldest son needs but I'm just planning a few at a time and going from there. Seriously, I hate degree planning!! (which is why I love Dfrecore and am exceptionally thankful for her!!)

Yes! I'm a software developer and I was thinking about building some sort of tool to organize my courses and visualize my progress towards my degree. Being able to see my progress really motivates me, and I wanted to get some ideas about how others keep track of it. I'll try to work on something over the weekend and I'll update the post with what I come up with, hopefully, it'll be helpful for someone else!

Thanks, everyone for sharing their methods! I've also started keeping track of the hours that I put in to study any subject, so by the end of the year, I should have a good way to estimate when I can expect to graduate. I'll keep the thread updated with that as well Smile
