Help with figuring out TESU History Degree plan
#1
So my intention is to pursue a History Degree at TESU through testouts and transfer credits, does anyone have a suggested plan that is up to date?

Low cost is crucial.

Now a few questions, is attending grad school a potential thing with an undergrad degree from Tesu? Any suggestions for increasing chances of getting into grad school?

Yes but it depends what grad schools you have in mind. Some grad schools may prefer graded b&m classes on your undergrad.

Do you have any suggestions on how to figure out what a school wants? Where do I find that information

Check the website for that college and look at admissions requirements for the program you're interested in. When in doubt, you may have to email the college directly to find out the nitty gritty details of what they will allow.

Do you by chance have any school suggestions or just schools you know of that are more accepting of the non traditional undergrad degree route? It's okay if not just figured I'd ask.

You'll have to narrow down what you're looking for. Just any grad school? Are you looking for a specific degree?

A lot of people here like and recommend WGU. So you could start there.

Although if you're talking MA in History, then WGU isn't going to be an option - they only have IT, Business, Nursing & Teaching degrees.

I just finished a History BA at TESU. your major problems are going to be finding a non-western history course, although the USSR DSST will fulfill that, then the Methods of History requirement you pretty much have to take at TESU, and then the capstone you have to take at TESU

other than that, you have numerous options for where/how to do the rest of it so its really up to you. Study.com has basically every course you'd need, if you want to go that route, or you can CLEP alot of it or whatever works for you. you can go on TESU's website and take a look at the requirements and go from there, there really isn't a "perfect" plan but its easy to fulfill everything but those first 3 I mentioned
Study.com - 177 CR. TESU - 39 CR. Middle Georgia State University - 15 CR. Sonoran Desert Institute - 42 CR. COSC - 6 CR. Excelsior - 6 CR. CLEP - 6 CR. Sophia - 14 CR. TEEX - 2 CR. Shmoop - 18 CR. NFA - 4 CR. The Institutes - 2 CR. FEMA - 20ish

BA in History/English from TESU.
BA in Communications from TESU. AS in Firearms Technology from SDI.

There are so many colleges with Graduate programs in history, just do a google search.  Did you notice that there is a Graduate School Tab on the forums here?  I would start with your state colleges, check their websites.  Two schools that I have seen mentioned in the Graduate School section here are Amberton University and Fort Hayes State College.  Both of their graduate school tuition falls under $300 per credit hour, which is amazing.  Amberton does not have a Masters in History, but it does have a Masters in Professional Development that looks like it could be personalized.  Fort Hayes does have a Masters in history.  https://www.fhsu.edu/history/academic-pr...esis/index
