Replying to this old thread in case people are searching in the future--
I am completing a degree at COSC and transferred in almost all credits from (very old) existing coursework but had similar General Education requirements remaining: Oral Communication (o), Global Understanding (g) and Ethical Decision Making (d)
I was going to go with DSSTs to complete these but found you could take all of them at study.com--
For Oral Communication, Communications 101: Public Speaking (only option)
For Ethical Decision Making, Business 108: Business Ethics (only option?)
For Global Understanding, Environmental Science 101: Environment and Humanity (other options available, e.g. Religion 101: Intro to World Religions)
It wasn't entirely clear from the COSC transfer document at study.com, but the COSC registrar office confirmed that they will fulfill the requirements.
If you knock these all out in one month at study.com it's $199 for the month plus $70 for the extra test (you get 2/month for the $199). Cheaper than DSST sitting fees. Also, it's free study materials using pretty much the same questions as the final test and you only end up needing a pretty low final test score to pass.
Overall this seemed to be the cheapest, fastest, and easiest option to knock out gen ed requirements at Charter Oak.
