I've been trying to purchase some Sophia courses this morning. I noticed on the main Sophia page that there is a 50% discount if you buy 3 or more classes. I had the classes in my cart and applied the discount and it looks like it works. Then I remembered I was on the main Sophia page and not the TESU section (which doesn't mention anything about a discount). I cleared my cart and went to the TESU page and added the classes from there and tried applying the code and it says the discount code is invalid.
Does it make a difference where I purchase the course from? I'm assuming the credits will still transfer if I buy from the main Sophia page with the discount instead of the TESU subpage? Or are they somehow different? For reference, here are the two sites -

If only the full-price, TESU page ones work then I need to rework my plan!

You can buy from the main page with the discount.
The TESU one just includes a discount. So it makes sense they won't give the TESU discount and also let you use the code.

Thank you! I don't see a discounted price anywhere for the TESU courses. Is that a better option?

If you're buying the 3 courses buy them off the main page and get the 50% discount. The Sophia/TESU page offers no price break deals, just shows you the equivalencies - they stay the same if you sign up of the TESU page or Sophia's main page.

Okay. Sorry to be a bother. I went to purchase the courses from the main page and signed into my account. I made the account when I took the free courses under the TESU page. When I try to check out, it clears my cart and gives me this message -
Quote:Your cart contains items that aren't available for your program. Please re-create your shopping cart from your program partner page.
Is it safe to create a new account from a different email on the main Sophia page? Or is this really something that will be an issue for me trying to transfer over?

Would it be best to just make a new account?

Also, make sure you're taking courses that will transfer to TESU. The "Foundations" courses won't (they are not considered college-level).

Thanks. I’m just trying to take the Art History, Visual Communications, and Intro to Info Technology. All of which it appears they accept which is why I was so confused by the message. I don’t want to mess up somehow since these classes are expensive.

This is one of my pet peeves with Sophia. They have all of these little purchasing portals that create restrictions on your user capabilities based on where you entered. I remember when they FIRST offered a free course (my son selected Introduction to Business, but there were several to choose from) and completed that course 4/2015. Fast forward, they launched their 1 credit freebie Teams course in 2017, and my son couldn't get it - no matter what we did, that course wasn't showing up. I created an account for son #2 and there it was. We turned to tech support, asking why son #1 couldn't register while son #2 could. Turns out they had to "clear out" his account from his first class and they created a new account for him (same user/pw) in order for him to get the freebie second class. (internal cookies? Not sure the techy term) Thankfully, we save everything in ACE immediately, but very annoying. When Sophia offered up their newest freebie (Conflict) both were able to register, but I am not in the least surprised that you have restrictions based on your portal there.

FWIW - in case others have issues, I ended up chatting with a learning coach. They said the discount wasn't available for TESU right now. She had me check to make sure the classes were accepted by TESU. Then she temporarily un-linked my account from TESU until I had purchased the classes, and then re-linked them right afterwards. It was quick and easy - except for the stress until I finally contacted them and a couple lost days.
