My Journey: TESU BSBA
So, all you have left for the BSBA is a TECEP? Finance AOS right?

What's left for the CS associates?

I still have about 10 remaining, and BUS421 online is one of them Angry . I am 50+% through 5 of the others (GM AOS). Should finish TEEX 301 in a couple of days (4 modules left), and I am hoping that will cover the one credit I am missing for my CS associates.
College (146): RA (134), NA (12)
ACE-recommended (105): Sophia (53), Study (28), Google (12), TEEX (10), Institutes (2)
ECTS (69): ENEB (65), LUT (2), XAMK (2)
IN PROGRESS:

Certificate- Google Data Analytics
Bachelor- Cybersecurity Technology (105/120) /
 Organizational Leadership (99/120)
Certification- CompTIA A+
DONE:
Certificate- Google IT Support

Associates- Business Administration /  BoG (History)
Undergrad certificate- Computer Networking
MBA

Yep, and I should have it done in 5-7 days. Nothing left for my CS assoc.

Don't put off your Finance UL until the end unless you are great at Finance. I'm not, and these are the hardest for me. Then again, part of the difficulty was how I was doing UL before the LL.

I used two TEEX in my CS associates. (I haven't taken the harder TEEX yet, and may not because I plan to take the DSST toward the BA-CS.)

Cool. The TEEX show up under AOS on your eval?

I chose Cyber 301 because it's supposed to transfer as CIS344 so I figured it would be most likely to fall under the AOS. Is that the harder one, or 201? It sure is taking longer to complete than I THOUGHT it would :p

Yep.

The harder one is the IT Professionals one. I started it and it was taking a lot longer than the others.

I find it strange TESU doesn't have a College Foundations type of course in their catalog? I just noticed mine from the community college apparently came in as "FEL-199 Special Topics Free Electives".

Copying part of my post from another thread:

Math was part of my original plan, but it's my current weakness. I had to drop out of DiffEq. That was such as a good opportunity, but it's been too long since I did calculus and I didn't have time to catch up.

It looks like they made the ASNSM-Math easier when they changed ASNSM-CS. So you might want to do it along with CS?

I actually could probably rush and replace my CS Assoc with Math, but I feel like it's too easy! I would add extra Math courses, however, to overcome that part.

My issue is that I don't want to give up my CS or Bio concentrations. However, in the future, my CS Associates will be useless, once I get the BA-CS. The reason is want the CS Assoc is in case I get some IT/CS work opportunity in the year before I get the BA-CS, or if something happens that delays my BA-CS. However, it's not very likely I'll get an IT/CS opportunity that I want which will accept me with AS-CS but not with my BA-CS credits in progress.

Wow, it's been a while since I thought of getting a Math degree, but I'm still interested.

From the unofficial eval, it seems the Math AOS only needs Calc I plus 16 cr of electives. I show only 2 cr needed in AOS, except that my GenEds math slot isn't filled. So I need 5 cr. I have Stats, Precalc, Geometry, College Algebra, Calc I already. It's possible that some of these won't work in the AOS, it is hard to say from the unofficial eval...

Too bad I didn't do Intermediate Algebra at ALEKS.

I believe I could fill the GenEds math slot with CLEP College Math or DSST Math for Liberal Arts. I believe they don't duplicate what I already have. Or, Finite Math supposedly is 100 level and doesn't work in the AOS, but maybe it could fill in my GenEds slot and College Algebra wouldn't have to move up? Shmoop has it. It's somewhat difficult for me to travel to the testing center (especially the DSST center). Oh, Davar also has 100 level course and there's a TECEP but that one won't be fast enough. So Shmoop/Davar/CLEP for the GenEds Math.

I would have so little time to get this done, so it has to be something I already learned in the past? I'm not sure I have enough time. For my second course, I think I would only have two options:

1) SL Calc II

2) Saylor Business Statistics (OPM-351) might work. It looks hard to me. It's not the same as other Statistics sources, it's more like Math for Operations Managers. I had spent a couple hours on it before, so I have an idea of the difficulty level.

3) I wonder if Finite Math might work in the AOS now. I know it didn't work before, but now they seem to be allowing even College Algebra in the AOS. This would be my preferred option.

Those seem to be the only fast options. As in, I could have my transcript at TESU in about 15 calendar days or less (10 business days).

Apparently TESU won't give credit for Trig if you already have Precalc.

If I got this Math degree I would be sure to complete Calc II, and more later on, because I don't think anyone should have a Math degree without Calc II, Linear Algebra, etc. (Personally I've taken LA before but don't have credit for it.)

Hm, some advisor messed up my Biology AOS which was already 100% complete, so I have to get that straightened out Sad

From another thread, "Finite Math will transfer as MAT-110, Finite Mathematics".

Also Shmoop Algebra II supposedly transfers as Intermediate Algebra and doesn't duplicate what I have.

But, the question is whether Intermediate Algebra can go into the AOS. Definitely not for a BA in Math, but for the revised AS in Math?

Their site still says "Note: The following courses are examples of the types of mathematics courses that CANNOT be used in the Mathematics Option: College Algebra, Finite Math, Pre-Calculus, or Trigonometry. These courses are not advanced level mathematics courses." I wonder if it's changed. If it's still true, then I need 11 credits, not 5, and I couldn't manage in time.

So I would have to find out, for the revised AS AOS:
1) if my College Algebra and Precalc count -- if not, forget the degree
2) if Finite Math and Intermediate Algebra count (or Business Statistics, if they don't) -- if not, I could still consider the degree by doing Calc II

I think it's likely that 100-level classes won't count at all, but for the BA concentration in Natural Science & Math, they say "no more than 6 credits at the 100 level", so maybe 2 would count!

I just realized I would need 2 GenEd math slots filled. It seems TESU just added another math requirement? I will post about this. Those are the easy part, but that's surprising.

Wow. I just ran an eval for Math AS. Cost to complete would be really low now. But I am soooo tired. Just want the easiest, least-complicated at this point Smile

Math would probably be easier/cheaper/quicker than CS, if you were willing to skip CS.

I understand. Even though I'm graduating, I feel like I'm not done until the BA-CS (and Eng) are complete, so I have 16 including Capstone left. The CS ones are mostly not self-paced.

Plus finishing this degree... now with extra Math (maybe).

This is really fun, though. I picked off the Sophia Elements of Conflict class tonight and also finished the Ashford/Sophia Foundations of Statistics Class except for the ID validation. I have just really been enjoying taking all of these classes.

Did you have to pay $49 for the Foundations of Stats? It doesn't complete duplicate TESU Intro Stats (which many of us have because of ALEKS and other courses)?

Thanks.
