Double Major Question
#1
Hi All,

I've been taking credits online and getting ready to apply to Thomas Edison, and I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding what it takes to double major.  I lived in China for eight years, and travel is pretty much my main focus.  I want to be as marketable as possible in other countries (not just China) so I was looking into a double major.  I was wondering if it is possible to double in marketing and English.

Side question:  If you did double major, how useful did you find it to be in the real world after graduation?

Thanks!

You cannot double major in those, as the degrees are from different "schools" within the college. You can double major in English/Comm or English/History, or have a double concentration in a BSBA like Marketing/Accounting or something like that.

I kind of thought that might be the case, but I was holding out hope.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

I read that many marketers have Communications, English, or Journalism degrees. They also like if you have some Psychology knowledge.

There are some good combinations available. You can do Mathematics and English, Mathematics and Psychology, etc.

Also what you can do is get an Associates degree from TESU at the same time as your Bachelor's. The Associates degree can be in Communications, Business Administration, etc.

So for example, you could have your Bachelor's in English and Biology, but your Associates in Business Admin.

And there's also undergrad Certificates but most of the ones which are easy to test out of are Business. Only some of the business ones are easy to test out of. So in addition to the double major and associates degree, you could get a certificate in Marketing Smile
