On the TESU Web page, TESU says " The University will not award a third Thomas Edison State University associate or baccalaureate degree". ( https://www.tesu.edu/academics/catalog/A...egrees.cfm). Does that mean TESU will not allow one to earn three BA degrees all from TESU, or more broadly, it won't allow a person to earn a third degree at all, even if some are from other schools? Has anyone tried this before?

It's a good question, but I can't imagine what the use of a third Bachelors would be.
Granted, I'm over here wrapping up a second bachelors...

I think it's a 3rd BA at all, whether any previous were earned from them or not.

Think about a discipline where an approved degree is required for licensing (e.g., nursing, engineering). Excelsior makes an exception to their policy in these cases.

This would be useful to me, as work as a teacher. Although I have licenses in different subjects, getting an additional degree would make my resume more tailored to a specific subject.

You're limited to two associates and two bachelors degrees at TESU. If you're trying to "credit bank/launder" your credits into a third degree, you can always try the other Big 3 counterparts. Since COSC has a free application going on until Jan 5, 2018 and Excelsior has a free application for students of partnerships (SL/Study.com/Sophia, etc), apply to both.
While you're at it, you may want to check out WGU, there may be something at the Bachelors or Masters Level for you. I don't know, check out several of the Competency-Based programs and see if they'll take as many credits as possible into a third degree. Brandman, Hodges, Patten, WGU - Northern Arizona, U of Wisconsin, and lastly the big'uns, Capella/Strayer/Walden.

Excelsior awards third bachelors, period. You just need justification and approval to apply for every major except for nursing.

Getting a third degree has nothing to do with credit banking or credit laundering.

They won't allow anyone to earn a 3rd one. So therefore if someone had a TESU degree and a degree from somewhere else, they cannot even get a 2nd TESU degree.

if someone was doing a 3rd bachelors for nursing they should just bite the bullet and do an in-person masters entry program like yale or columbia university has
http://nursing.columbia.edu/admissions-a...dnp-mdephd
and columbia accepts Excelsior Anatomy & Physiology exams and Microbiology exam to meet the prerequisites
