Hi all,
I started preparing for my capstone in Jan, reading the book up to chapter 8 and prepping quizzes for the midterm exam.
One thing I was wondering is how many pages should be the 7 case studies? (maybe it will be written in the assignments but I'm too excited to know now)
Thanks!

I'm doing mine right now, it says no more than 4 pages double-spaced, and mine have all been 3-4 pages including the stuff at the top that has my name and other info, and the Works Cited Section.
If you can read the chapters ahead of time, that's a good idea. It's a lot of reading, and although I keep up weekly, it's still a lot when you include the case studies.
Don't bother reading the case studies since you don't know what will be assigned.
But feel free to read all the way through Chapter 12, since that's what you'll have to do for the course.
Also, the midterm was harder than the norm - less about memorizing stuff, more about applying what you've learned. But there's a study guide given to you in the syllabus, it was very helpful. It even lists which questions (if asked on that particular exam) will be an essay question vs a m/c question.

Interesting,
Would you say that the first case studies helped you prep for the midterm? Is the study guide public?
Thank you for all the information!

It's hard to say what helped the most with the midterm. Really, reading the book is critical to your success in this course. After that, the Case Studies, where you actually think and apply what you're reading, is helpful as well. It's kind of a combination.
I found that because I read an old edition of the book while studying for the TECEP (I failed it), I found that I just need to skim it to refresh my memory now when doing the discussion questions and case studies. I'm really glad I read that, because it just makes it go so much faster at this point.
