I took the CSU Global CBE for Principles of Cybersecurity about a month ago. It took about two weeks for my test to be graded, but I passed. Obviously, this is a lot more costly than taking TEEX courses, but it's less boring and time-consuming. I only used the study materials that CSU provided, but I did have previous exposure to this stuff in the TEEX courses. I know someone might make a future post complaining about he or she failed the test because he or she didn't read the recommended textbook, but I didn't need it. If you go through the pre-test two or three times and all the module quizzes, you'll see most of the types of questions you'll see on the final exam.
If CSU Global CBEs cost $100-150, I would have completed the rest of my BSBA using those because the studying process is a lot more pleasant than Sophia, Study.com and even Straighterline. Also, it's more convenient to register and take tests than it is for CLEP, DSST, and Uexcel.
These are the courses that are currently approved as fitting into the CIS area of study for TESU's BSBA:
Digital Marketing (I reviewed the materials, and the content is easy to understand. This test is not technical at all.)
Principles of Cybersecurity (This is not a very technical test.)
Cloud Computing and Big Data (I reviewed the materials, and this test/course is not technical.)
Database Management (This is a very technical test and will require learning SQL at least at a basic level.)
Information Systems Analysis and Design (This is not a super easy test, but it's not nearly as technical as the recommended textbook.)
I was able to use Basic Programming to meet the programming requirement for the BSBA in CIS, but TESU hasn't been consistent on the equivalency of this exam. The current version of the test covers Visual Basic, which is easier than C++. If you can get this pre-approved for the programming requirement, then I recommend this over the Straighterline course.
