UMass Lowell has an online certificate in Computer Assisted Manufacturing that includes CAD classes:  https://continuinged.uml.edu/certificate...ficate.cfm

I also found this - didn't look at any of the programs, but somebody would have something, I'd wager:  http://www.bestcolleges.com/features/bes...-programs/

The UML certificate has engineering design as a prereq.  Your student wouldn't necessarily need the class, but should have done some thorough background study.  The CAD software classes will assume familiarity with design concepts such as technical sketching, the various 2D and 3D geometries, etc.  This class is often available at a community college that offers a mechanical engineering transfer option.
