I can't say this enough, Khan Academy will be extremely helpful to you. I was in the same situation, had not done math for a long time. I originally was attracted to Khan b/c it's free but I found an entirely new world of learning via THE BEST math & science videos. You watch the vids, then you practice math exercises online. Once you master Khan, go back to ALEKS and take your test. You are much more likely to score >70% doing using this strategy. ALEKS does very little to explain HOW & WHY, imo. Khan uses videos to show you how each step is done and why each step is important. If you want to master math and do it as fast as possibly, Khan is hands-down, the Best source, imo.

I just finished the inital "knowledge check" for beginning algebra got 70% took a long time. Is that the assetment test or is there another one? I dont see any other options in my master account to set for the student account.

If the "knowledge check" is the assement.. can I go to my master account and pick a new course for the student account? Or do I have to wait for ACE to confirm the % before starting the next course?

Check your Master account, click on the student, look for a "Check Student Progress" link (or something similar) and click on it.

If the overall course says 70%, you can apply for ACE review and it should be approved.

There is some debate about this. Under my ALEKS Master Account > Student Account > Reports > Progress Reports > All Classes, all of my ALEKS history is listed with all requisite scores. I requested credit for my Trig course, then switched to PreCalc to knock it out and ended up getting credit for both within fifteen minutes of one another.

Some people say ALEKS doesn't store scores, but I know from experience that they do. If time is of the essence (like it was for me), I'd switch the course.

Bingo! Yeah, you're good to go on requesting credit.

This is probably the most applicable thread, which I have read over the past few weeks, that very closely relates to my previous credits obtained from college and the path that I choose to take. Thank you!

I do have one question... Is it quicker and more cost effective for me to CLEP must of my gen eds like History, Comp II, Humanities class, etc or to sign up for Straighterline instead? I'm thinking i can knock out about 2-3 courses per month. I'm just speculating as I have not taken courses from them. I'd like to graduate by at least April or May of 2018.

I have many degree plane from others that I have copied. However, I only assume TESU might take 20 credits Max? Most of mine are Biblical base classes and I did poorly in others. I would have TESU evaluate them but they don't accept unofficial transcripts and I owe about $2,000 to my last University before they will release my official ones.

Anyways, just trying to decide what classes I should take next and in what method I should take them to be done by next year! Smile

I don't think TESU will let you enroll with outstanding fees owed to a previous college, and no transcripts.
