I just started SL and its great getting the book included, especially when you spend 9 bucks per course.
But Im having trouble with the bookshelf searches...do you have to use their bookshelf search bar? I cant cntrl-F, as it only searches the page that you are currently viewing. Are there any tricks and tips to searching books in bookshelf? One tip is to put a very specific phrase in quotes, so its looking for that combination of words, versus just having multiple words on the same page.

That's exactly what I do, place it in quotes. Like "this and that" when doing a search.
I think it's cheaper overall this way, don't have to spend $/time on searching for cheaper books or ebooks.

I'm living overseas, so physical textbooks are out...I used to shell out a LOT of extra money on SL ebooks because it was my only option. The new plan with combining the books with the courses for only a few bucks more is by and FAR a better deal. Plus, the ebooks are great and so easy for using on exams. I've been super happy with the new course model.

Are their books PDF format or do I have to use some special viewer?
If I don't want one of the free etextbooks, can I sell/trade/give it to someone else? Like someone who is taking a Saylor or CLEP on the same subject?

Anyone know if you retain access to the textbooks after your subscription expires?

You mean have an ebook copy? Hmm, I don't know how that works...
Anyone have converted or downloaded a copy?

Did you download a copy or something? How does it work for you if you don't use Straighterline anymore?

My SL sub is expired, yet I'm still able to log into
