For Straighterline courses that allow open-book finals using an ebook, is it okay to use ctrl + f during the proctored tests to search through the book? Also, is Adobe Acrobat Reader fine to use for the finals? I'd be willing to use the ebooks that come with the courses too instead of PDF files if the same basic functions are offered.

I used the provided ebook which has a search feature. I also used ctlr+C and ctrl+V with no issues.

Also, with the exception of a few courses, it is possible to pass almost every SL course before you've ever answered a single question in your final exam. COSC awards letter grades, but everyone else awards credit- so once you're at 70% for the course, the "extra" will go unappreciated because no one will see it. Your ACE transcript will only have "credit" on there- no scores.

Ctrl + F wont do anything for you with the built in SL e-books. The books themselves has a search feature that you are more then able to use on a Final. Just did it Sunday for Intro to Religion course. You can use the e-book or the physical copy according to SL's website. So a PDF would be a no I am assuming from this. @Clodyneseidel : COSC may award a letter grade so the best you are looking at getting is a general GPA and not a COSC GPA. I doubt they will give you a GPA for courses you didn't take from COSC. So best case scenario it could help your cumulative GPA.

I use the built in search function a LOT. I would say practice with it a bit and use it on the quizzes just as you will on the final. It can be finicky and is not intuitive like we are used to when you use google

SL is looking like a good choice to knock out a couple of required courses that don't interest me. If only there was a list of open book exams!
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.
Learn a trade. Gain technical skills. Make money, then use this money to get a degree...if you have the desire.
