TES-100 Cornerstone: Lifelong Learning Can't be waived.

Mamasaphire Wrote:I guess it depends on if whether an individual prefers testing out or busy work. In general I'd probably prefer the TECEP too, but when I think of how many hours/days I study for my CBEs, I think if I had the money, I'd go with the couple hour class option Wink

I was working under the assumption that the TECEP fulfilled a requirement they need anyway, so they'd be studying the material eventually anyway. But I get what you're saying.

True. Maybe the shift from almost every alternative credit source being a CBE to the SL/study.com/etc option has changed my viewpoint. Wink

I did. This was before I knew about the Study.com affiliate member deal. So I basically wasted $186 but I didn't need to study for anything. The course takes a couple of hours and doesn't teach you anything.

There are these sections:

Readiness Exam and Exam Questionnaire
LessonLesson: Ways to Earn Credit
LessonLesson: Learning Outcomes
LessonLesson: Academic Policies
LessonLesson: Academic Integrity
LessonLesson: Learner Support Center
LessonLesson: Strategies for Success

They tell you stuff by reading, and by videos that you could probably find on youtube.

Then you push a button, and get asked a question or two. If you don't get it, it is possible you could review the section and try again.

Basically, it's freshman orientation distilled into a neat little package. I won't be so bold as to say that it hasn't helped me or that I didn't learn anything, but I really don't think I should pay for stuff they should just tell me. In return, I think you receive one credit, so (shrugs).

I don't care, I've had greater issues. TES-100 is a minor inconvenience relatively speaking.

Haha, I'll be bold and say it again - I didn't learn anything new that I hadn't already heard about from this very forum. There is no reason for this waste of time to cost $300.

Well...maybe I did learn how to navigate some stuff on the website. But I don't think that is something I wouldn't have figured out in two minutes on my own.

The Readiness Exam is not even an exam. It just checks your system requirements and stuff if I remember correctly. I didn't even realize I had finished the "exam" because I kept looking for actual questions to answer.

Mine was removed with the Study.com affiliate membership. Check OSS to see if they apply it- I did not get any email or other communication about it, had to see on OSS that I was changed to "corporate choice applicant."

I already had to take a previous cornerstone (called College Forum) with a B&M college so am happy I do not need to do another one.
MBA- WGU, in progress 2018

I just started on Study.com in advance of an eventual TESU Degree. I've been putting off actually registering at TESU but if it's beneficial to do it while a Study.com member, how do I register at TESU as a Study.com affiliate? I looked for a link on Study.com but could not locate one.

Thanks in advance!
