Signatures are getting BIGGER!!!!!
#31
When we change our siggy, our archived post siggy is updated - which is nice, but I sometimes wish I could go back and see my older ones. Wayyy back in the day, when I was new, my name was larger with flowers on both sides. I also used to have quotes - my favorite being the brick wall quote, had that for a long time. I remember there used to be signature tutorials here - how to make it fancy and such. I think now that people mostly use words, that's probably simplified things too.

Agree 100% Jennifer. Once I updated my signature it was sad to realize all prior posts changed as well. The sadness lasted only about 20 seconds but those 20 seconds were painful Wink

Jennifer, with some Google magic I was able to track this down. No images, though, just the quote and your activity at the time Smile

Having to muscle through a few signatures deemed to be too long........first world problem. I enjoy seeing the various sig lines, what people have done, what they're working on, and the different ways to get credit. As was mentioned earlier, to paraphrase, in a world that doesn't understand or appreciate legitimate alternate credit paths, I like to know and celebrate with my forum mates!

I've taken this thread to heart, and studied on it.

I think I will take a middle approach to sig lines:

I don't think a naked line is appropriate. New people should put their goals down there in a single sentence, so that people can quickly see what they want, and focus their answers to them based on that. I'd answer a question from a dabbler in learning different than a person who has a few degrees and is looking for something quickly.

People that have been around awhile should list what they are familiar with. I'm not certain posting scores is beneficial to me, the viewer, but I see several sides. If I were hot stuff, I think I (definitely the younger me) would flaunt it. It also helps to evaluate the information presented by that person.

Here is my first stab at a sig line here. I find it too drab and perfunctory; I bet Sheldon would approve. lol But I think it says enough about me that people won't have to dredge through my posts to learn more just to evaluate a thought or post I make. Thoughts?

If I posted MY scores, that would certainly give everyone else an ego boost ;P My scores were pitiful.

I have posted my scores, and they're not great! But, I want people to know the truth - when I say I thought the English Comp II TECEP was easy, but that I only spent 5 minutes studying for it - it's true, and I only got a 79% on it. So, I got what I wanted (a pass) but nothing to brag about there.

I think it's a good balance between giving too much/not enough info. I will probably shorten mine after finishing my degree, although I will keep a copy of it on hand! Then, maybe just a list (like you) of all of the sources I used.
