I forgot about Tor! Thanks ![Smile Smile](https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/images/smilies/smile.png) Need to email them now that they're Davar, as these don't show up on the new website. But BALS: Humanities is still d-oable.

KayV Wrote:The thing is, though, that it doesn't really matter as long as you have 15 upper level hours in Liberal Studies (not necessarily Humanities).
TESU says:
Students complete 30 credits in the area of study that include at least 15 credits at the 300/400 level and no more than 6 credits at the 100 level. This will include 18 credits of Humanities courses and an additional 12 credits of Liberal Studies courses.
As long as you have a total of 30 Liberal Studies credits with 15 upper level, you should be good. Eighteen of those credits- and that could be all 12 of the "additional 12 credits of Liberal Studies courses-" need to be upper level.
At the moment you have these planned or completed:
Study HIS-351 A History of Vietnam War 3UL
Saylor COM-373 Managerial Communications 3UL
Study COM-300 Introduction to Business Communication 3UL
TECEP MAR-321 Marketing Communications 3UL
so all you need is three more credits of any UL Liberal Studies, since your Shmoop/ CLEP/ etc. should give you plenty of Humanities hours for the 30 total. Maybe a Study psych class?
I initially thought this, too, but then when I went to the "What if?" machine, this little gem appeared:
Quote:The Area of Study for this degree program consists of the 18 semester hour Concentration, the 12 semester hour Liberal Studies General Courses and the 3 semester hour Liberal Arts Capstone, for a total of 33 semester hours. A MAXIMUM of 6 semester hours within the entire Area of Study can be at the 100 level. Within the Concentration, complete 15 semester hours in the Humanities at the upper level (300/400) with a grade of C or better. Complete an additional 3 semester hours in the Humanities at any level with a grade o f C or better.
(emphasis mine)
So that pretty clearly states I've got to have 5 UL humanities courses. or at least that's how I read it. Otherwise it's basically a BALS degree, no concentration, right?

Oh bummer. It's too bad they don't say that on the degree plan they post publicly. :|

Also, Intro to World Religions from Straighterline won't work as UL credit. They now have it listed as REL-277 instead of REL-405. It was the last bastion of UL credit for that course (DSST/ SL/ Study) but it was also downgraded after DSST did their big downgrade.

Yeah, they really really should make it more clear. I guess there aren't too many people looking to do a Humanities concentration ![Smile Smile](https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/images/smilies/smile.png) But since dfrecore just showed me the workaround, it's all good

Interpersonal Communication looks like it would be right up your alley.
Bioethics would be doable too, though, and much friendlier on the wallet.

How are the Uexels proctored? I can do it online, but being in Asia, going to a testing site would be, uh, problematic

Nevermind, you have to find a proctor. One of the other options Dfrecore mentioned should work though.

Hopefully this is all speculation, and TESU will give us a lot of new upper level literature choices by the end of the month.

UExcel usually tests at PearsonVUE testing sites, but you might actually be able to find one (they're available around the world, since that's where lots of people have to go for many types of IT cert testing).
