Oh Canada, the land of taxation. I went to a bar once, had to pay an alcohol tax on top of a sales tax

This would mean new operating agreements and corporate resolutions (fun).
Tell you what -- You like new enterprises, so why don't you start a chain of low-cost Distance Universities? You'd have a captive audience, here! Smile

If you thought all that tax was somehow funny, then you'd better come back! You obviously forgot to pay the amusement tax. Smile

I hear you. Taxes are why I stopped drinking (after 40 years of it) some 11 or 12 years back. Nothing to do with my liver - just my wallet. The LCBO (Provincial liquor authority) flew their flag at half-mast the day I quit!

I have looked into it. There is too much red tape, and the costs are astronomical. For me it makes more sense to leverage real estate and to depreciate my way out of paying taxes on the profits.

You don't think the U.S. has huge taxes on alcohol? We just collect them differently.

i do believe the US has taxes on alcohol. But an 18 pack of beer won't cost me $50 in the US. Or a handle of captain Morgan will run $18 not $60.

Is degree / credential hoarding a psychosis?

I think collecting "certifications" (not certificates) have for me become a psychosis. I also have gone overboard with community colleges degrees and non-traditional ACE credits in my drive to learn. Who said gin, a computer at night, and learning don't mix.Confusedmilelol:

Not me! I never said that! And I know I can trust you not to go for a drive after the gin! Smile

Psychosis? Nah - as long as you're not skipping meals, missing appointments, it's all good! Smile
