I'm New To Clep

Hello, I am new to this forum, and I've never taken a CLEP test. I want to know if it is possible to pass the CLEP Western Civ 1 test after studying 4 hours a day for 5 days. If so, what study resources and tips do you recommend? If the Western Civ test is too hard, is there another test I could pass after a week of studying? The reason I am asking this is because I want to see if I can earn credit over Thanksgiving break. Thanks for reading, and have a great night or morning or whatever time it is in your area!

There really is no way for someone to tell you whether or not this is possible; what is possible or even easy for one person might be darn difficult for someone else. That is a very broad test covering a LOT of years of history, but if you're a history buff, it just might be the perfect test for you.

You could choose a test that is considered one of the "easier" exams if you wanted - Intro to Soc, Intro to Psych, A&I Lit, History of the US I.

But, it also all depends on what you actually need to take for your degree. It doesn't make sense to take a course that you can't use in your degree plan.

Also, "what" you are studying matters. If you're not using the right prep material, you won't succeed.

I did a few different courses with one week or less of studying; Psych, Marketing, English Comp, Human Growth and Development(Did Psych First). So yes it IS doable. But like dfrecore said its impossible for someone to tell you that is enough for you to pass. Also I did the amount of studying I needed to "pass". Seeing how there is no grade given for CLEPs I just cared about a passing score. Try using the REA guide for Western Civ I and I feel you would have no problem if you studied for it 4hours a day for 5 days. https://www.amazon.com/CLEP%C2%AE-Wester...vilization I find the practice tests to be extremely helpful in taking the actual CLEPs. Just realize you will get a lot of the same questions from the practice test on the actual test, However, they will be worded in a way you don't recognize. This happened ALOT with the Psych CLEP.
