Help Request: BSBA TESU Plan filling in missing credit with Study.com (primarily)

I am looking for some guidance on obtaining a BSBA through TESU, the concentration does not matter. Ideally I would like to complete as much of the needed items through Study.com - using the annual rate discount that is available and 12 months is fine with me time wise - which will allow me 24 course exams at 2 per month. It will give me the time to save up the for fees and/or courses that would be required directly with TESU (and what are those courses/fees I should prepare for?). I had originally though of going through COSC, but it just looks like I could get so much more bang for my buck (especially in the UL transfer agreement listing) going with TESU. Additionally I currently have a free month with Shmoop.com so I could complete at least one or two of the current History courses for additional ACE credits (current options with them are Modern European History, US History I, US History II) - if this would be a better allocation and using my available 24 course exams with Study for other subjects. I don't even see where it says if I need a History course with TESU for the BSBA. Finally, I realize that I will need to earn 3 credits for English Composition someplace other than study.com, that is fine - that one course I do know what my options are.

This is my first time making a spreadsheet for someone else, so I would 100% defer to anyone else that contradicts my sheet.

There's 5 credits of General education electives that still need to be filled in, that you can pick from general Study.com courses, and I put College Comp. CLEP in as a placeholder. I left out your Art and Certificate Program.

I looked at your courses, and I think you will be disappointed if you try transferring to TESU - a lot of this just won't transfer well into the BSBA.

I have no idea how your certificate will transfer over, it could fulfill a lot of your Gen Eds and the CIS AOS - or it could count as nothing. You're going to want to apply to both COSC and EC to see how that will fit in there as well, they are much better about accepting IT Certs than TESU is.

Also, most of your business/real estate courses won't fit into the BSBA at TESU either, there's no place for them to go (they are free electives, I think). Your computer stuff that's 1cr probably won't work either. Nor will your TEEX courses except 1 of them. Or Massage or Kinesiology. Im also not sure if your Contract Law course will fulfill the Business Law core requirement. Not sure if Social Issues will fulfill your diversity requirement, or if it will just go into Knowledge of Human Cultures.

There's another bummer for you - the Study.com annual discount is no longer available. So, you're looking at $199/mo for 2 courses, less any coupons you might be able to find (I think there's a 20% off coupon out there, not sure if you can use it multiple times).

If I were you, and still wanted to get the BSBA, I would probably sign up for Shmoop while the price is still low, and take the 3 history courses in a month. Those will fit into Knowledge of Human Cultures or Gen Ed Electives. Then, I would sign up for ALEKS and do the 3(4) math courses you'll need (Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Stats, and then Precalc if you want). That's only $20/mo. When completed with Stats, I would take the Saylor Business Stats course.

After taking the Gen Eds that you know you will need, and a bunch of the Core courses, I would then apply to all 3 schools and see where you stand, especially in regards to the IT Cert and the Real Estate courses. I'm including my spreadsheet, and all of the courses I don't think will fit are at the bottom. I could be wrong, and the only way to know that is to apply.

Also, if you don't care which degree you get, you may want to look into TESU's BSPS, where both IT and Real Estate courses will fit: Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies. The nice thing with TESU is that once you apply and get an eval, you can see what would happen if you changed the degree to see if that wouldn't be a better fit. In fact, I would think about applying for the BSPS, and then looking at the BSBA CIS online afterwards. I think they will do a better job of evaluating those credits that won't normally fit into the BSBA if you apply for the BSPS instead.

I am going to finish the history credits from Shmoop.com and then apply to TESU. This program also only requires 3 Math credits - as far the Aleks ACE approved math courses, what would be the lowest level that would meet this requirement - any ieas? I know the BSBA requires College Algebra and Statistics, but this Professional Studies just lists 3 credits for Gen Ed Math. Also as far as Gen Ed Written Communications would TESU count Technical Writing as 3 of the 6 required.

If it's just a Gen Ed math, then I would think that Intermediate Algebra would work. Having said that, I have seen some people say that College Algebra was actually easier than Intermediate. I took both and Intermediate did take me more time but that is because I was getting back into the groove with Intermediate and I tested pretty low on my initial assessment. I started at a way higher percentage for College so it didn't take as much time but I didn't think College was any easier. I would recommend doing an initial assessment for both and seeing which one you start higher at. This is all assuming that either/or will work for what you need.

Technical Writing will count for your Information Literacy requirements.

At TESU, English Comp I & II are the Written Comm requirements - nothing else will do. If you ended up at COSC, then you would have more flexibility on that (English Comp I and Tech Writing would work).

I suggest you go with English Comp I & II, you can't really go wrong there.

Intermediate Algebra is the lowest level, and easiest, to complete. College Algebra was significantly more difficult, in my opinion. Int Alg is like Algebra I, while College Alg is like Algebra I & II.

Int Algebra took me something like 6 hours to complete, while College Algebra took me several weeks.
