The Shortest Route to an accredited Bachelor's Degree = BS in Liberal Arts

I have not been paying as much attention to cost and requirements lately, but I have just been talking to my son and friend about at least getting a liberal studies AA so if they are NJ residents would TESU still be the quickest, cheapest alternative. Would they only need to take one course/capstone? I am hoping if I can at least get them started they will get the credit bug.:coolgleam:

I think COSC is the cheapest AA. TESU's $2,000 residency waiver is a real deal-breaker for the AA for me. Definitely not worth it (especially because I live in a state where CLEP/DSST's are accepted at most CC's, and the cost for an AA is about $3,000 if you were to take all 60cr at the CC).

TESU and COSC are neck-and-neck for most BA/BS degrees.

TESU might win for the BSBA, especially in terms of speed (not having to take the capstone, but being able to test out of it). They also come out ahead in terms of needing fewer UL requirements (18 vs 30 at COSC and EC).

I think TESU has the easiest website to navigate, and because of this forum, I know what almost every course equivalency is through most of the CBE methods listed on this forum. TESU hands-down has the worst customer service, and least knowledgable staff. They are terrible about communicating the latest rules to their staff, especially when there are changes. They also seem slow to update their website with changes.

COSC is 2nd, although I think their evaluation is crazy hard to work with. But their website lists their requirements fairly well, and their customer service seems to be the best.

EC is most expensive than the others, but I think (I could be wrong) that they accept the most IT certs that can convert to credits. Their customer service also gets better reviews than TESU.

It really depends on the degree you want and what credits you're bringing in as to which school is better for each individual person. But if you're coming in with 0 credits, but with IT certs, you should definitely look at EC and COSC. If you're coming in with nothing, TESU or COSC will probably be the cheapest. If you want an AA, look at COSC.
