Depends on the degree you decide on, but any of the Business Core can come from the CC as well. Micro and Macroeconomics are good choices - necessary for the BSBA, and counts as SocSci for BSAST/BANSM.

bjcheung77 Wrote:My suggestion still is to go with the BSBA that you originally wanted to take as it's got the TECEP as a capstone for Strategic Management, so it's faster/cheaper. That particular course may be cheaper, but if you have 90cr that already count towards a BSAST and you only need a few courses to finish, then it may be faster to do that instead. It may also be more motivating to only have a few courses left, which may ultimately lead to getting those few courses done more quickly. Just because a BSBA is cheaper for someone who has zero credits, doesn't mean it's the best option for everyone, all the time.

I'm actually considering the BSBA in CIS at this point also, that seems like it might be a good fit for the credits I already have. I'll probably wait to make a final decision once my credits get evaluated.
I'm going through NMJC's online course list, and I'll probably do Micro/Macro. Does anyone know if their EN113 and EN123 (Comp. & Rhetoric, Comp. & Literature) would fulfill the written communication reqs? I'd really like to get to 6 courses through them as well, to maximize the value, but once again I might have to wait until I get evaluated and see what holes I can fill.

I'll probably wait to make a final decision once my credits get evaluated. You 100% for sure need English 1A & 1B (I & II), so if they offer those and you want to spend the time taking them, go for it. I would rather take 1 day and do the CLEP, but that's just me. If you're going to do the BSBA, then go down the list of core courses and take those. Regarding CIS vs Ops Management, I think that would take a lot longer - you already have the Ops Management courses in there, why throw those all out and have to start from scratch with 6 CIS courses? If I had the OM courses you had and was going to get the BSBA, I would DEFINITELY stick with OM. CIS just doesn't make any sense. So, do the BSBA core, and the first set of courses I listed for Gen Ed, those you need no matter which degree you end up with.

I'm just trying to fill out 12 (preferably 18) credits at NMJC, and the English ones jumped out at me. I guess since I don't really have a guide as to what courses from them could fit into the BSBA slots I'm a little hesitant to go too far into other courses. How would I go about figuring out equivalencies?
For the CIS vs Ops Mgmt, it depends on if they give me credit in Ops Management AOS vs. the regular business requirements. If I get credit in the AOS for Ops Management, I'll absolutely go with that, but if they just give me credit in regular business requirements, I should have 2-3 courses that will transfer into CIS AOS.

How would I go about figuring out equivalencies? That's good thinking... it all depends right now on the evaluation and it's best not to jump the gun. I think you're in good shape as is, just get the gen ed done and pro biz courses that you're still needing. The AOS should be the last thing to worry about... you can decide what's needed then.

How would I go about figuring out equivalencies? Here is the beginners guide that will tell you where to start, and give you links to the gen eds and how to take them (first 8 posts are probably the best): http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...llege.html When I looked at your courses, I don't see any CIS courses to speak of - several Computer Science, but all LL, and one is needed to complete the Core. So you'd still need to take 4 UL CIS courses. That's assuming that the Intro to CS and the CS I don't duplicate each other, in which case you'd need 5 AOS courses. But I definitely think they will give you the CPIM courses as 12 UL OM. That would be great. They won't give you credit for any of the core stuff, since you didn't do any of them. You didn't do a lot of SocSci/Hum courses either. Alas, none of those Engineering courses will work there!

Still working on my degree plan, and waiting for my academic evaluation to go through. I'm assuming I'm going to fill up most if not all of my elective slots, so I'm not too fussed about them at this point.
I noticed that CSU Global has a CBE for Total Quality Management. Does anyone have any experience with that transferring to TESU? I'm hoping to fill in my Quality Assurance/TQM requirement with that test. My current plan (still a lot of holes)

CSU-G will definitely transfer to TESU (some people have used them for the computers stuff already), but I would get them pre-approved before you pay. But, that course is what I would recommend to someone going the BSBA Ops Management route.
