I hit the milestone...120.33 credits - I am done !!
#1
I am so excited and joyous today as I took my last outstanding test of CLEP Biology and passed it. I have to say this forum has changed my life. It was in 2014 when I stumbled upon this forum while searching for some random things and got hooked on reading people's post on their educational journey. I still remember I spent two hours scouring the forum and next day, I subscribed to instacert. Then later that year I changed a job due to promotional opportunity and got off track for about 6-7 months and but then again in 2015, I hit it hard taking several test every month and then pretty much one every week for the last 5 months. Fast forward to today, I have hit the magic number of 120 credits.

I can not conclude this post without thanking fine folks on this forum who helped me, guided me through out my journey and motivated me to stand here today and announce "I am done". There are few members who I am very thankful to for their insight and time they took to help me specially Dfrecore, DREWNNAN, Ranmousoul, Passit1, AngelaP, timokito, SuzanneD, Bricabrack - you guys are awesome and always helped me via forum post, email or private message, and last but not least the great Instacert - without it, I couldn't have done this. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I also thank my family for allowing me to pursue my dreams because, the time I was studying, it was my time with them that they sacrificed for me.

And for those of you who are newbie, stuck on the path, or sitting on sideline, if I can do it then anyone can do it. I have not been to college in last 20 years. I am working full time with hectic traveling schedule and father of two teenagers. With all that, I was able to find time to read and take test to meet my goal because I was so determined to complete my degree. I don't even remember when was the last time I sat in front of a TV to watch anything...lol. The point is you will have to sacrifice in the short term to gain long term benefit. And like Tony Dungy wrote in his book Mentor-Leader, " You are always a role model for some one - no matter what" so I did it for my kids, so they can see how important it is to have right education and they can get it now when they are young then doing it like me later in their life.

Don't wait for that perfect moment to start your journey as colleges are constantly changing their policies, there is no such thing as best time to start but start now to lock in current year catalog. Good Luck.

Thank you all!!

Congratulations! Excellent post, by the way. While it's jaw-dropping to see how fast some members have been able to get their degrees, it's just as important to read the stories of folks who stumbled along the way. I don't think I fully agree with Mahatma Gandhi about , “Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory.” There's LOT of satisfaction in attaining your goal.
