My Journey from Dead End Job to Success
Hunter91 Wrote:I thought being able to complete my masters in a year was fast, now it feels slow LOL! Good job!

What are you taking and where? Btw, what were your AA and BA majors?
Are you going to the same school as your undergraduates degrees?

That's the major reason I will be looking into grad schools that are mainly Competency Based Education.
Competency Based Degrees are beneficial and can be quickly completed if you're educated or trained in that subject matter.

I'm looking to complete my Bachelors by the end of September and apply for year end graduation at TESU.

I can agree to this. Yet, it's also comforting to know kids love us for taking care of them.
They're our first and foremost priority. Wish you luck with your goals.

AA in gen Ed
BA in liberal studies
Getting masters at Amberton

All degrees from different schools. Also, Amberton isn't self-paced but they do have short semesters (about 10 weeks).
MSN - Complete
BSN - Complete
ASN - Complete
MA - Complete
BA - Complete
AA - Complete

Not to detract from the OP’s story - but on the topic of dead-end jobs, has anyone on this forum successfully transitioned from being a Pharmacy Technician? I honestly want to move away from the healthcare industry in general (management, marketing, HR and finance all interest me, but want to be in another industry) but am worried about being pigeonholed even with a degree. I have already been rejected for entry-level jobs in other industries due to “inexperience in the field.” Hoping a degree will make the difference for me.
MBA- WGU, in progress 2018
BSBA- TESU, Sep. 2017

I suggest you might get more response if you begin a new thread.

Yes I did, thanks for noticing! The team I'm working with at Amazon while training set a site productivity record and I was stoked driving home. Originally, I set the challenge exam date for Sunday night to give me a few days to study and had only studied for about 2 hours so far. But since I was so worked up Saturday morning driving home from work (I'm on overnights) I rescheduled the exam once I got home. Finished passing the challenge exam in just enough time to get to my daughter's Odyssey of the Mind tournament that Saturday.

Finally did the Marketing project this week and submitted it today. My WGU mentor was literally laughing out loud that I took Financial Management's challenge exam to procrastinate - she says NO ONE does FM to avoid Marketing (I guess except for me!). I'm great at talking folks into stuff - that's basically what a manager does but this was global marketing and my only experience outside the US was going to Niagara last year. It took almost 3 hours of research just to figure out what product I could market and where. BTW - Panera at The College of NJ, conveniently located half a mile from my house is a TOTally awesome place to camp out and work for 5 hours straight. Plugs for the computer, free wifi, unlimited coffee refills and you can order from the phone app and they deliver to your table. Ate breakfast and lunch there without breaking stride.

I'm currently number 39 in queue in WGU's Taskstream waiting to find out if the project achieves requirements and to know if I passed the class. WGU knows how to keep this immediate gratification girl in suspense!

While I was waiting tonight, I started on the next course: took the Ethics webinar then studied and passed the Ethics exam with a great score. But Ethics requires two projects in addition to the test. Great - so some dumb executives and wall street idjits ruin the economy and now I have extra work. Cause, ya know, it's ALL about me.
