New TESU Residency Requirement!!! 16cr, TECEP's do not count?!?
bjcheung77 Wrote:Quick question, when did you register and complete your first few TECEPS?
I believe for those who have completed a few before April have a better chance at using that for residency.
Any exams, as per previous posts, registered after April will not count towards residency.

I registered for five TECEPs at the end of Feb for March term. Took three throughout March. Registered for the others towards the end of March for April term.

We have until April 15th to be registered for it.

I received an email saying almost the same thing. Technically, any TECEPs registered for after 03/31/2016 aren't supposed to count, but they may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis for students who register for TECEPs in the May term. The deadline for registering for the May term is April 16th, and the late registration deadline is April 21st.

So, my sisters' enrollments are running out this month. We were doing the Pay Per Credit plan with the 8 TECEPs; so far they've taken 1 (in the May term of last year). I'd like to get them reenrolled for another year to give us time to figure out what we're going to do, and to ensure they have the same degree requirements. I'm looking for cheapest way to do that. Enrolling for a TECEP still enrolls you for a year, right? It just doesn't count towards the residency?

SO.....am I understanding this correctly?

Can I STILL do my original plan of 21 TECEP credits, 3 Capstone and just pay the $2000 residency waiver and not have to take any "real" classes at TESU? (except the capstone)?

or am I misunderstanding what the waiver is?
Linda
A little bit of information for those enrolled before 4/1/16. As of the date of the requirement change, I had all of the credits completed for my degree except the residency requirement of which I was 3 credits short. I took the capstone as well as 6 TECEP's giving me a residency credit of 21 (24 previously required for a BA). I received an email from from the university registrar which notified me of the change, said it wouldn't effect me as long as I continued to stay enrolled, and that I had met the residency requirements and an update had been applied to my transcript. I emailed back stating I was still 3 credits shy to which I received another email stating that because the residency requirement had changed to 16 and I had exceeded that, I had met the requirement and do not need to pay the waiver. So I get the benefits of the change without any drawback =)

It appears that way, unless you are starting at the end of May in which case you also do a 1 credit Cornerstone ($300).

Strange! I haven't had that experience at all. Who are your emails from? Maybe they'll get to my account eventually Wink

So I am assuming those enrolled in PPC under the Military Degree Completion Program such as myself are excluded from these changes? Is that how everyone else understood that?

Cathy Punchello who has the title of University Registrar on the emails
