Patricia Certo responded to my questions to advising and basically confirmed the "worst case."
1. Grades earned from any source other than TESU courses to not count towards the GPA requirement -- this includes TECEPs.
2. My current enrollment status was a mistake, and she helpfully (snort) had it corrected so that it now shows "accepted" instead of "OS1TU". Only registering for a course will change this now, taking a TECEP does not count under the new rules.
I've responded asking if the "new rules" have already taken effect, as there seems to also be an impression that they don't until April 1. I believe they are in effect now.

So wait, there's now a new GPA requirement for TESU?
My evaluation has it marked as "complete" without any TESU courses taken. Not that it matters since I'll be taking two courses shortly with them anyway, but they never required a GPA before.

I don't know when "before" is, but this is what prompted me to ask, along with other forum members talking about taking single courses to get a GPA.. from my current academic evaluation page @ myedison:

Generally when people talk about taking a course to get a GPA it's so they have a GPA to show for graduate schools and such.
If there's a GPA requirement now, it's part of these new changes.
FWIW, both my Institutional GPA and my Overall GPA say "Met," without any TESU courses.

My evaluation has been showing "not met" there since I sent in my first ACE transcript, which they received on March 7th. I think that was before the changes were announced, but I'm not sure. It's possible that the changes were already underway by then and I just started a bit too late to get into the old system.

Ouch! Sorry to hear this. That is an expensive correction.
The only way for an applicant to be on the 2015-16 catalog is to pay the EO or comprehensive plan before 3/31. The 8 TECEP plan is a goner if you're not already enrolled by taking a TECEP/course for March 2016 term or prior. It's pretty risky now to do 8 TECEP (~$900 gamble) if you accidentally got OS1TU without enrolling in a TECEP/course March 2016 term or before.

What would be the benefit to the EO at this point? It'd be cheaper to just pay the residency waiver.

This is from the TESU website:
"What does my GPA mean on my academic evaluation?
“Overall GPA Met” – YES means that you have above the 2.0 necessary for your overall GPA; NO means that you are below an overall 2.0.
“TESU GPA” reflects the GPA of all TESU coursework taken. This must be at least a 2.0 for graduation for undergraduate students, and a 3.0 for graduate students."
The overall GPA met is usually from the classes you transfer in. In order to have a TESU GPA you would need to take a class with them.

I'm not convinced that you could get into EO right now even if you wanted to, though I agree with jsd, the waiver is less expensive than EO is (or was). Right now I'm thinking I need to enroll in some 1cr course ASAP in order to a) Meet the (new?) GPA requirement, and b) "lock in" on my current catalog so I'm not subjected to the new ASBA capstone requirement.

Depends on what the 2016-2017 catalog looks like for your major. Pray it doesn't get worse for you. And it depends on how many courses you must take at TESU. The residency waiver is $2k while EO is $3.5k. And can you finish before your current OS1TU expires?
