I won my fight with COSC over CSU Global CBEs! Plus, they plan to offer CBEs.
#1
Because I was so perturbed about them ignoring my last email, I emailed them again tweaking my argument a little. This was their response.

Quote:As was previously stated, Charter Oak does not generally accept non-residential credits. However, I spoke with the Registrar, who reviewed the exams more closely with the members of our staff. Since they are competency-based exams (and not simply courses), and we are looking to offer and accept competency-based exams in the future, we have decided that we will accept the CSU-Global CBEs.

You're welcome.

What do you mean? TESU accepted CSU Global CBEs without any argument.

It took me several emails and being ignored twice (COSC also ignored me last year) before they changed their mind. With the first email I sent COSC last year, they didn't respond at all. How many times have you contacted TESU to let them know that they made a mistake on your evaluation? It sounds like you only contacted them once and didn't get a response. Most likely, your email got lost in the system because they use a computerized ticket system. You keep complaining about TESU's evaluation, but you haven't really done anything about it. As far as the FEMA IS courses, those aren't true residential credits. They are laundered credits, and TESU knows you didn't take them from FCC. They were, however, the first of the Big 3 to accept FEMA IS courses directly, which makes me think that they ran into an issue with their accreditor. TESU now requires organizations to request an official evaluation of their non-ACE/NCCRS training. Apparently, FEMA has no interest in doing this because they aren't getting paid for offering these courses, and they have a credit laundering partnership with FCC.

Thank you!

I had called last year asking about it and they told me "no." Really glad they changed their minds. This will potentially help a lot of students.
