I've researched the forums, looked at some generous folks' transcripts, but I wanted to make sure I'm 100% right on this:
COSC doesn't transcribe a test to a course. It will just list the exam taken and the exam name.
TESC transcribes a test to a specific course. I know this is a 100% true with TECEP but it looks to be the case for all of the tests.
Did I get that right?

For TESC, I took Organizational Theory at a CC, they put it as PSY-199. Their own Organizational Theory course is PSY-360. I knew mine wouldn't go in as the upper level course, because it's at a CC (although I would have expected it to be PSY-260). But it's a requirement for the BSBA HR degree, and they accepted it and put it in the correct place (after I requested it, they originally put it somewhere else, fixed it within 12 hours of the request).
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that TESC gives A course number to transferred courses/exams, but if it isn't one they've done previously (like ALEKS, CLEP, DSST) or through a company where they have an agreement (like SL, Saylor, Sophia), then you don't know WHICH course number it will become until after they put it on your transcript.
Not sure if that's what you were asking, hope it helps for TESC. Someone else will have to chime in for COSC.

That's exactly what I Was looking for, thanks!
COSC Grads, chime in!
[BTW, if anyone matters why this is important or of interest: Certain graduate schools will grant pre-req credit for AP work ONLY if the college who has it on the transcript matched it to a particular course, as opposed to just general credit]

Correct. COSC lists just the exam name, no course equivalency.
