So I have read if you take and pass one you receive an A for the course that's transcribed onto your TESC transcript. The question is, what happens if you fail one? Do you end up having an F transcribed onto the transcript? Looking into taking the Advertising TECEP, but just trying to gather some information on them and it.

I just failed a tecep and it is not listed on my unofficial transcript. i called up the school and they said there is no drawback to failing other than you are only allowed to take it one more time in your lifetime and would have to pay to take it again.

Maybe there's been a change of policy, all TECEPS are graded as pass or fail and transcribed as CR on transcript. At least, on my transcript, all the TECEPS I ever took were posted as CR.

I have a W on my transcript when I had signed up for a TECEP and withdrew due to a full schedule that quarter. That can be important to some people and some schools (at least if you have too many on your transcript).

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.
