10 years removed from school, 108 credits want to finish my business/finance degree

Prloko Wrote:You have a 2.667 GPA for TESC's graduation purposes, but you do not have a TESC GPA until you take a course.

It looks like you lost a lot of credit went unused in the transfer. That one pending course looks like they are waiting for documentation from you. Speak to an advisor to see what they need from you.

I'm curios as to how TESC would treat your courses if you switched to General Management rather than finance, if you were further along. Use the academic eval tool to see how TESC *might* treat the credit.

On the bright side, you have more credit to TECEP out of.

ay, I don't care if it's finance althought it would have been nice. should I ask the advisor about switching to general management? being that I need to take 8 teceps anyways does it not matter that I have unused credits and it's safe to assume that with 8 tecep's I will/should be done?

this is what it says for general management. *edit* it shows exactly the same +/- different class names for a few items for the bsba in finance.

it shows things however as not started and of course the strategic management (pending) although I did send in documentation in regards to that course

Am I missing something? You didn't post the whole thing, but it looks like you would have completed the entire degree with the GM option?

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

As promised. Here is your updated plan. I see a problem for you, since TESC has not transcribed some of your Finance credit in the finance section, you are going to have to take Finance courses, either at TESC or elsewhere. Unless you are hell-bent in getting a Finance concentration, I would seriously consider looking into the General Management option as there are many TECEPs you can squeeze in there if you are only wanting to do TECEPs.

Good luck!

looks like general management it is...should I tell the advisor? I don't think I have all the classes i need to graduate but it shows me having more credits than what I need...I don't know how that would work at that point.

If you have credits you don't need, they just don't use them. They show them at the bottom of your eval under "other courses". I would contact them and tell them you want to switch to General Management, if you were under the old catalog, you should make sure that you stay under it (you should only change catalog years if you switch to a different "school" and these are both BSBA degrees).

It does both. But as dfrecore stated, Make sure you change your degree with an academic advisor and ensure that you stay under the old catalog requirements. The online program is showing you the newer degree requirements.

thanks, I will let the advisor know I have a 3pm appointment with one now and I was advised I would be in the old catalog
Reply
so the TESC advisors are excellent...they are a bunch of degreeforum.net guys they are almost as knowledgeable as you all Wink

so I was told I am on the 2015 or old catalog and even if i switched to general management I would stay on the old catalog
confirmed what some of you had told me that general management I can test out of where finance I wont be able to. So I e-mailed the request to switch
with the request of my change in degree to general management I asked them to lay out the requirements to completion in the form of tecep's so I'll know which ones I need.
Apparently by doing a quick look the advisor said I would NEED about 5-6 teceps to complete what is missing but in either case I need to take 8 to go that route.

I hope these TECEPS are manageable.. :ack:
