I am helping three students prepare for the Biology CLEP. If I purchase the REA Online test package and the Peterson tests, can the tests be taken by each of them, or will I have to purchase these products for each separate students? In other words, can the tests be retaken? Or are they are one shot deal?

REA Tests - We purchased a book with a CD and the tests could be taken over and over. Actually, the online ones can be taken over and over as well (a friend told us).
Peterson Tests - These are different. To allow both my kids to take the tests, they had to click the box that said "not timed" this allowed one to take the test and write the answers on an answer sheet, and the other one took it online. Then I had to check the one by hand. However, after we did all of that and paid for them, my daughter realized we could get them for free through our library. Be sure to check your library first, as each library holder gets to take the tests!
In summary, the Peterson tests cannot be taken over and over, but the REA ones can be.

I will add that with REA only being $9.95 for the test package per CLEP, I found significant value in comparing my scores between the three test scores as I progressed through studying on their site. REA's method is nice as it directs you to your weaker categories and allows you to see your progress.
Even if I was partnering with someone and taking all of the same tests at the same time, I'd probably still spend the money to have my own REA account.
