Exceptionally good exercise. Years ago a law clerk wanted to work for the government, but they weren't hiring. Funny thing was, a big-name firm wanted her. A judge advised her to live as though she'd gotten the government salary and not the private industry salary in case she ever tried to get a job with the government.

Hello, I just want to put this out there for you. Have you ever considered becoming a licensed nursing home administrator? You have to have a bachelors degree and go through a one semester course and 1000 hour (usually unpaid) internship. When I saw you were a cma I figured you could do what I will do through my internship which is work weekend Doubles. It is a very well paying job, Starting out, first year no experience my friend is making 80,000. She can expect to be making 90,000. to 100,000. within the next three years.

One more thing, my program is at a community college and the cost was $800. plus text book.

Thanks for the info....Greenville is 4 hours from me and Georgetown 2 hours.....even so I have considered their programs but am told they are full.

Suzanne, Can you tell me more? What kind of course are you taking for the nursing home admin license? This is something for me to certainly look into....thanks!

I also do genealogy for people who are looking for help but it's hard to get many clients. Bottom line is that I need a degree that would actually equate to a decent paying job. Any ideas??
At the master's level for the degree to be worthwhile you've got to look as far as a good return on investment anything in the health field will work the best. Master's programs in liberal arts won't help too much and imo will be kind of pointless from an employment standpoint. Even in government jobs, a bachelor's degree in anything is fine, but most job descriptions for master's are for very particular subjects i.e. engineering, teaching, or health field, etc.
Best bang for buck? Go for a master's in something health related.

MSU's tuition is very reasonable. I will be able to finish my Master's in just under 10K.
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.
