There is a big link that says "Official Rules Apply." It's not even in fine print. The page also says "Limit one course per person." This is the normal sign-up page for the Careerbuilder deal. https://onlinecourses.sophia.org/

Ah, right you are. This whole time, I was going through the main Sophia webpage at http://www.sophia.org, which mentions the code on the page after signing in, but does not mention any rules.

The reason I couldn't apply the code is because I didn't register using the green "Register Now" button on the http://onlinecourses.sophia.org/ page. I did it today and it worked.
I just completed the Proctured exam for PM. The final was all the questions in teh Milestone that you got right, study that and you'll ace it. How do the credit get posted on the ACE transcript?

A "typical" user would find this information by going through the proper channels. The only reason you were able to work around it is because Sanantone gave you the code directly. Everyone else not reading degreeforum posts would only find this through Sophia.org's links.
You are not a typical user as you have this information from a third party. Its easier to acknowledge you're gaming the system, rather than trying to justify the action.
example, one time I received a coupon code from an apparel company. They gave it to me as consolation because they were unable to accommodate a request. The code was meant for me, had I posted it on here, then you would be gaming the system because there were conditions tied to that code (in my case, as a consolation).
Although this situation is different, the concept is similar. The code was meant to be accessed by reading Sophia's offer, which clearly states the conditions for using the code. The code was posted on here.
Finally, it is a known fact that you have to use the exact link with the contest information for you to be able to use the code. If you try to enter the code through normal channels as a naive user, the system kicks back "invalid code". I know because its been mentioned here and I tested the theory myself about 10 seconds ago. The only way to enter the code is through the specific URL that offers the rule.
Again though, really I just like to play devils advocate and if you can use the code more than once successfully, more power to you. I won't rat on you (not that I could anyway).
And the dead horse has thoroughly been beaten.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

It was PaintTheSunset and another user, but carry on.
