Woop, woop! Finished my final webinar for Strategic Management last night. At the end of the last webinar, you send the instructor identifying information. At some point, it will show that I "attended" the three webinars. Then I am done, done, done with Strategic Management. I'm going to the mailbox right now to send in my proctor form for Statistics. Please keep your fingers crossed for me, pray, whatever. Thanks for being so helpful duing my down moments.

Finished third (and last) webinar on Sunday. During the webinar, the instructor posts a link to a web article - this week's was the water situation in Toledo - and asks a few questions, or might just ask for input. You really can't say the wrong thing. After 35-45 minutes, the webinar is done. I sent in some information on Sunday evening, but it turned out to be the wrong info. After correcting it on Monday, I saw that today a "P" was posted. I'm officially done with that class. Now, on to the statistics final. Even before then, I'll start on my Col. Alg. Again, thank all of your for your moral support.

If you're using the one of the recommended text books for Strategic Management for the TECEP, this site might help.

Could you share the cost of the Penn Foster Strategic Management class?
I called this morning to register for the class and the cost was over $1,000. Is that right?

Whoever you spoke to was obviously trying to enroll you as a Penn Foster student.
When I took PF courses they were $270, they are now approx $240.
Call 1-800-233-0259 ( workforce development division)
Going this route is less hassle and they are friendly. They will sign you up as an unenrolled student taking independent study (IS) courses. I prefer this method as each course you order will be added under one student ID number.
BTW, no need to purchase the transcript for an additional $10. I was sent the transcript automatically once the course was completed and you will have to transfer the credit to ACE anyway. You will then need to pay to send the ACE transcript to TESC; why duplicate efforts and pay for somehting you do not need. Why people will pay the additional fee for the PF transcript I will never understand.
Penn Foster Financial Management transfers to TESC as Principles of Finance.

I have another question for those of you that have completed this course.
What if you miss a webinar? Do they repeat at any point?
The first one I see on the schedule is the same time I'm giving a presentation to 300+ people at the local convention center (not really something I can cancel).
I'm stressing over what I thought would be an easy part of the course.

They offer them every week. It's pretty simple and the easiest part of the class. The first one I spent 10 min online. The last one an hour. Part of that was because I was in Puerto Rico and the internet sucked at the hotel.
I did find the last webinar to be one of the best instances of relating the course material to real life and found it very informative.

Did a poster say that there was a new instructor for the course? If so, the webinars may have changed since I took them. My instructor would post a link to an article, and ask for our feedback. (The articles were ones you could quickly read.) You got credit for attending, not for the quality of your responses. Don't sweat it. As folks who are taking any webinar might be at the beginning, middle, or end of their course, you don't need to worry about any sort of order for the webinars. Each one stands alone.

Yes, I'm finishing up this class now.
The webinars have changed a bit. However, they are easy, helpful and should not give you anxiety!
The new instructor, D. Evans, comes prepared with a power point and topics associated with strategic management. The webinars are meant to clarify nuances in reading topics (for example: difference between efficient and effective). She also has mini cases studies that we read. She has us write quick two or three sentence responses to questions about the case study. You are not graded on right or wrong. You are graded on participation. None of it is difficult. She is trying to set you up for success on the final case study. She reviews the answers you type and then tells you whether you are on the right track or if you should use a different approach.
Very laid back.... not a reason to not take the course.
