Hi all thanks for reading.
When I started this degree journey I did countless hours of research on keeping costs low, and now I come to you for advice on something that's going to cost me more money.
I recently, after 6 weeks of waiting, received my letter grade for the $500 Uexcel writing exam I took. With all the recent anticipation for this letter I decided to do a three way call to all the people who helped me prepare (Private tutor with a Masters in literacy and my mother, 30 years in elementary education, now retired). Collectively our jaws dropped as I opened the letter and verbalized my score. I can't remember the last time I was this appalled and confused. My first and longest job out of high school was an assistant elementary and high school teacher; I've graded more 5 part essays than I care to mention, yet I still spent time and money on a private tutor; all to receive the grade that just about everyone else on the forums I've viewed received. I was beyond prepared and finished within my allotted time. I just don't think I can justify spending any more money at a school that is either A) not being objective or B) has a grader who is just briefly scanning and stamping the same grade on all essays.
I'll stop there as this post isn't about that; I just wanted to provide motive for my question.
Has anybody switched from Excelsior to another of the big 3 mid way through their degree?
Right now I have 60 credits from Dantes and CLEPS; obviously the goal is to switch to either COSC or Thomas Edison with the purpose of getting a Bachelor in a business related focus.
Which school do you think has the most seamless transcript transferring?
Is either school notable for being more helpful in processing?
Which schools don't recognize UExcels as GPA affectors? and/or Is it possible to just drop that Exam from my GPA?
(With as little GPA classes as most of us take in these test out pathways I really don't want a 2.0 being factored and I will not pay another dime to take UExcel English again)
Ideally it would be transferred with me but not for a GPA, but I'd settle for it just not being factored at all and I'' take a different English comp based on COSC and TESC requirements.
Thanks in advance for reading my wall of text.
