This is awesome! Thank you, all of you! I'm going to look over this stuff, and I'm going to have 10000 questions, I'm sure. If anyone can come up with any other configurations, that's awesome, too.

I suppose, ultimately, something with an HR slant might be suitable. At this point, for me, a degree will be beneficial regardless of major. Eventually, I intend to go the master's route on an HR degree, but I'm worrying about one step at a time.

Sanantone -- as a side note, I already work in HR (and have for quite a few years). I am currently working for a Fortune 500 oil and gas in HR. Consequently, another reason why I'm wanting to continue and finish all of this is because I want to move up the ladder a little further. Smile I appreciate your help, too, and I've looked over quite a few of your degree plans on the wikia. Insofar as all of the things you've said about getting into the HR field -- yes, it's hard to even get into the field. Beyond that, without an HR degree, it's even tougher. Fortunately, though, for me, I'm already on the inside -- I just need some serious help to get higher up. I'm totally game for a business degree as well (and a lot of my work sides on the computer side of HR, too, so that's cool, too). Really, I want something effective but that both works best with what I already have AND is faster. I don't want to have recomplete or redirect a whole lot. Although, I may change my mind when I look through all of this.

As far as degrees and getting to the top -- where I'm at, the magic is all in the HR master's.

Honestly (and I know this sounds terrible, probably) -- I want something that is quick as possible, cheap as I can get it, and consumes as little time as possible. Yes, I want it easy. I know things aren't always that, and I'm okay with that. Tongue We don't always get what we want. Hehe. I just have a lot going on, but I understand, and recognize the absolute value that completing my degree will have. It'll also put a little jump in my step that I finally completed it. It's been a long time coming, and it's something that I want to do for myself, my career, my family (and especially my parents).

Also, as a side note, any idea what a PHR certification might net me insofar as credits somewhere in the mix?

..and, KayV / Sanantone / everyone else -- how much extra stuff would I need to do that BSBA but with the HR concentration, rather than the general management?

I'm also gathering that TESC is probably the best route for me given the fact that I have that handful of classes with D grades that would be a pity to waste? Or would COSC still be reasonably viable? I don't really have a preference either way, school-wise.

Thanks again!

Also, KayV -- would you explain a couple of things here for me? It seems fairly straightforward, I just want to make sure I'm on the same page and not misunderstanding anything.

What do these mean? I know what Kaplan is, ACE is, TEEX is, etc., but I'm not sure what you mean.

I also have taken some courses (you mentioned TEEX), previously, when I worked in law enforcement -- for dispatch, jailer, etc. I'm not sure if those would carry over for anything? If there's a reasonable thought that they might be usable, I'll look up the details on the classes. Smile

The good thing about COSC is that they accept FEMA courses, which are free, directly for free. TESC doesn't accept them at all, and Excelsior will require that you get them transcribed by Frederick Community College at $79 per credit hour. The downside is that every COSC bachelor's program will require at least 6 credits in residence: cornerstone and capstone. Even though COSC offers 5 and 8-week courses, the capstone and cornerstone can't be taken within the same semester. This might cut down speed.

While one can completely test out of a BSBA in General Management at TESC, one will have to take organizational theory or organizational development and change as a course at TESC or somewhere else. No one has been able to find a CBE or ACE/NCCRS approved course for this requirement.
