You dont have to take them at your college. You will have to pay 80 for the test regardless and around 15 for the test center.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum :

If you plan to graduate from TESC, then the Per Credit Hour plan indeed requires just 7 TECEP's. The final 3 Credits needed to meet the residency requirement will be fulfilled by your Capstone.

For clarity-
The BSBA capstone, BUS-421 Strategic Managment, can be completed by OL/GS course, TECEP, or transferred (PF Strategic Business Management). So you can use 8 TECEPs for the BSBA degree program by either taking the capstone TECEP or transferring in the PF course and using an alternative exam.

Sorry i forgot to say plus the capstone when i stated just 7 TECEP exams. It would be 8 if you didnt require a capstone ie a BSBA degree.

Only semantics but a BSBA capstone
is required. It is just possible to fill the slot through a few methods vs. just the TESC OL/GS course.

BTW, TECEPs ENC101 and ENC102 English Comp I&II are both recommended. If you are comfortable with mathematics and plan to take TECEP MAT121 College Algebra, I would also recommend taking TECEP MAT105 Liberal Arts Math for an easy 3CR. Also TECEP CIS107 Computer Concepts and Applications is great to take just after DSST COS101 Intro to Computing (recommended) or the alternate CLEP
COS 101 Information Systems & Computer Applications. That's already 5 out of 8 exams that are all general education courses and you would be off to a wonderful (affordable) start to your degree plan.
