So confused need help with TESC tests trying to completely test out.
#1
I'm trying to get a BA from TESC and I will post my evaluation later but the courses I need are very similar to the link I borrowed from another thread. Basically I need to plan when to en-roll as a student and knock out as many tests I can using DANTES and CLEP (or anything else). TESC did accept 22 of my credits which were mostly elective based. So what I'm asking for is some counselling because my life is so hectic I need to completely test out or as much as I can. Calling the TESC they asked me to en-roll and take ENC-101 and ENC-102 followed by a lifetime learning course and because of the urgency and time constraints I cannot take the traditional classes. Thanks for your help in advance. I will upload my current evaluation later today. Thank you in advance.

I've edited the post and this is my current assessment. I've also worked as a Computer Networks Engineer for the past ten years and have been in the IT field since 1997 there has to be something in the lifetime learning assessment for me. I'm leaning towards straigterline after reading what other graduates have done this may be right for me to get started.

If you cannot take even an online class, your best bet will be a BSBA in General Management from TESC (unless you already have a bunch of CIS credits). You could start with TESC's in-house exams (TECEPs) for ENC-101 and -102. You could also work on ALEKS Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and Statistics, which would all count toward the degree in some form. The Kaplan PLA course will count as 3 no-cost general ed or free elective credits, and you could complete the no-cost TEEX Cybersecurity series for 6 more credits.

You should try to take at least 24 hours of TESC credits (8 TECEPs or classes) to reduce your costs so you can enroll in the Per Credit Option plan.

What sort of time deadline do you have?
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.
83 hours of ACE-worthy credits

After looking at the CLEP website, TESC only accepts College Composition with optional essay.

Thomas Edison State College - Accepts CLEP Credits - College Board | CLEP

Best advise is to switch to either Excelsior, Charter Oak or ACE.

I think using staighterline might be better for me. I don't really need that much interaction. It's unfortunate the lifetime learning credit is not in place.

Here is the correct grid as that link is completely wrong. TESC takes all of the CLEP exams so I'm not sure why the college board would say they only take one of them. For anyone looking at transfer credits be sure to check with the school and not use the CLEP site.

CLEP - College-Level Exam Program
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

Be aware that TESC only gives 3 credits, not 6, for College Composition Modular.

What is ACE? I only know ACE as the American College of Education (only offers graduate degrees) and American Council on Education (college credit recommendation service and higher education organization, not a college one can actually attend).

What if some of the classes were guided study instead of regular online classes? I think that's simpler, doesn't require so much interaction.

My suggestion is to build SL and CLEP into your first few credits. See what style fits you best and charge!
