I read that this morning, but one thing about it confuses me. What exactly is the difference in earning two areas of study within one degree versus earning two seperate bachelors degrees? They could have stated that better I think.

If you want two areas of study such as Communications and Social Sciences which both fall under the BA program then you just are completing another set of courses to complete that area. For the second degree option, someone could add a BSBA in Marketing to their BA in Humanities. The difference depends on what the two programs are and what degree they fall under.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

Yep, the two areas of study have to come from the same department. It's double majoring. For example, you can earn a BSBA in Accounting and Finance, and it will count as one degree. You cannot double major in accounting and social science because these are two different types of degrees. They will count as two separate degrees.

So if I opt for a double major I only need 5 more courses in the second major (since 9 credits can transfer over from one area of study), but I need to complete all courses for both majors before the degree can be awarded then?
Just checking if this is true; I kind of want to branch out from the General Management degree, but at the same time I don't want to delay getting my bachelor's any further.

Since the area of study for the BSBA is only 18 credits, then I think you only need to complete 9 different credits.

The way you put it makes a lot more sense. They should just come out & say double major.
By the way, does TESC offer minors? I never see anything about that. If so, how many credits does that require?
I know I'll have about 12 extra credits after finishing the LDAS program, because of the 24 credit residency requirement. It'd be nice if I could put them to use somehow.

No, but there are undergraduate certificates. The BSBA specializations are the closest thing to a minor.

You'll need 21-30 extra credits depending on how much the degree overlaps.
