Are the Peterson's Practice Tests Reliable for Assessing your progress and knowledge? I just took one in Intro to Psychology and got a 65 and want to know if that means i would be ready to take the CLEP exam.

A 65 is incredible for petersons. They make the tests extremely difficult. For example I took the US History 2 peterson the night before my test and scored a 38! Next day I walked out of the testing center with a 64. Don't judge your progress with petersons. I just use them for studying.

I would suggest taking the Official CLEP Study Guide (OCSG) practice test if possible, in addition to the Petersons. Scoring 60 or higher is generally considered a good indicator of test readiness.

OK, i got a 54 on the Official CLEP Study Guide practice test...i guess that means they're harder.

The first peterson's has a reputation for being the easiest. Take all three to judge readiness. Remember they are actually a learning tool not what you will see on an actual exam. IMO, the CLEP guide practice tests are closer to the real thing; especially in the question and answer structure.

I think it depends on the topic. Some tests were considerably more difficult than the questions provided in Peterson's. Others were the opposite. I concur with using the official CLEP study guide to ascertain if you are ready.
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

Yes, if theres one thing I've learned about these tests it's that they have all turned out to be easier than i thought. I would still do an hour or two of review though if I were you.

Take as many PTs as you can. The more you take, the more accurate picture you have of what you know and what you need to learn. The PTs are study helps, after all.

Hi I am thinking of purchasing Peterson’s practice test for the court offices test I am taking in the spring. Are they reliable?
