cheap, quick college algebra class for math-impaired
#1
Ok, so maybe I'm asking for too much. But I am not the best math student and need to complete a college (not introductory) algebra class in the next 2 weeks. I work full-time and am currently taking other classes through Straighterline and commit several hours a week to it. If I need to take off a couple of days from work to extend my study time, that's doable. I was all set to attend Aleks for College Algebra until I discovered that they no longer offer ACE credit. I don't feel comfortable taking a closed-book algebra test, which is why I am hesitant to take Algebra through Straighterline. And I definitely don't feel comfortable taking Algebra CLEP.

My only option right now is to go ahead and take Straighterline's College Algebra class and do as well as I can on the quizzes and midterm. Maybe I can still get a decent cumulative grade.

Any thoughts or ideas? Pass 'em on...thank you!

ALEKS is approved for credit - I just received mine two weeks ago for College Algebra and Intermediate Algebra. I think ALEKS is your best bet.

Thank you for the confirmation. I saw them listed on the ACE site and Aleks has ACE credit info on their site, but I read a recent forum post (either here on a neighbor forum) that Aleks is no longer approved for ACE credit.

I think it had expired at some point later last year, but I can't find that info on either ACE or Aleks. Aleks is my first choice...hands down.

Thank you!

All you have to do is click on the course, and view the "date offered" to be sure it is still approved. ALL of ALEKS courses are approved for ACE credit.
