Thank you for making me a Liberal studies degree plan I agree I am way closer to that degree and I think your right I should just complete this one. I was originally a business major and switched to Liberal studies at EOU that is why my credits are all over. I wanted to finish my degree at EOU but I cannot find a way to take the courses and have them transfer without testing out. Which courses would I need to complete my Liberal studies degree at TESC? Also is there a way around the capstone like with the business degree or will i have to take it?

I don't have time to do the whole evaluation, but you appear to have most of the credits for a BSLA from Excelsior, with depths in Communication and either Business or Education already completed (12 hours with 3 upper level per depth; Communication is the arts field you need).
Before you do anything else, sign up for ALEKS and complete Beginning Algebra (For Excelsior), Intermediate Algebra (for TESU), and College Algebra (for both) if you can. Add Stats and Trig or Precalculus if you decide to do the TESU or Excelsior BSBA. Big changes are coming soon with the ALEKS system and you should get those completed ASAP before the changes kick in. The minimum math for Liberal Studies is Beginning Algebra for Excelsior and Intermediate Algebra for TESU.

cali86 Wrote:Ok Thank you. I just called Thomas Edison to ask about how my quarter units would be treated in the core areas. They told me they would just be brought in and fulfill that course even though they are just quarter units. Also they told me if i have any D's in courses they will be counted and brought in as well they just cannot be used in english composition or your area study which are the roman numeral III and above, But they can be used in Roman numeral II requirements such as in the professional business requirements. That would mean my business law, managerial accounting, and principles of management would count.
Just to be clear, you will still have to make up the missing credits as a result of the quarter units. For example, if you have 2.67 semester units (4 quarter) from a course for the AOS, you need to make up the 0.33 missing credits within the AOS. This is normally not a big deal unless you do actually end up being short. Even if you were short, it's just one single additional course.

KayV, I can't reply with quote or my space bar doesn't work. Not sure what happened there? Anyway, 3 of the business courses have D's. Will EC take those?

Cali86, at all of the Big 3, you have to take the capstone. Some of EC's capstones are even 6cr, which is a very expensive course.
At TESU, the only capstone you can test out of is the BSBA. Everything else has to be taken as an online course.

Hi KayV,
I have started college algebra at Aleks and will try to hurry and finish it up. Also If I am really almost complete for Excelsior then that's where I will go. I am curious if they will take my courses with D's as well.. I am going to look at their degree plan you mentioned right now hopefully i can figure out what I have left.

Ok. I looked their degree program over and I do agree this is the best bet for me to finish. Also I find it kind of funny it is almost the exact degree I was going for at EOU. At EOU I was going for a Bachelors of Science in Liberal Studies with a minor in Business, and a minor in communications. Oh also does anyone know of a way I can transfer the ALEKS course to my university would i be able to transfer it somewhere then transfer it over? I have only 2 courses left to complete my AA in Administrative Management. College Math was one of them and also a business practicum which would need to be completed there.

If they take ACE credits, then you might be able to use it there, but it's not that common. More common would be if they took CLEP, but that's a bit harder than ALEKS. You could also look into getting the AA at TESU. You can work on both degrees at the same time.
