The New 9/11/01 Math...
On September 10th 2001 the somewhat simplistic math problem of 11 + 175 + 77 + 93 would = 356.
The next day however changed this formula for everyone as on that day American Airlines Flights 11, 77 and United Airlines Flights 175 and 93 altered the courses (and math) of countless lives across our nation. The end result being nearly 3000 people (2977 not including terrorists) gave their lives when our nation was attacked.
Of those 2977, I went to school (the NYPD Academy) with 5 of them. A few years later another graduate of the academy became my trainee and also my friend. His name was, is Vincent Danz.
Just as I will never forget Vinny, and my other 5-classmates, I will never forget the 2977 heroes that died that day and I wonder......how many of you, our IC-Forum Classmates, knew some of those heroes too?
Yes, 11 + 175 + 77 + 93 = 2977, is a new math formula that I will Never Forget!! :patriot: [/COLOR]

Thank you for posting this ShotoJuku! 12 years ago, I was only 6 years old so I don't really remember much from the actual day. However, during the 10th anniversary, my family watched a lot of the documentaries/tributes on tv and I think that's when I truly understood what had happened on 9/11. I didn't lose anyone that I personally knew, but my thoughts and prayers are with all of those who did.

I did not personally lose anyone that day but I know many who did. I grew up in Middletown NJ my mother still lived in that house on 9/11. the block lost 3 people, my mother still talks about how long she would drive past the train station and there would still be cars that were moved not for a long time after that day. I remember the day like it was yesterday and the horror of seeing the 2nd tower hit and the first tower fall will never leave me. HorseManiac I am happy to learn that people of your age are still learning to understand what that day meant.
Lets not forget the 184 people who died at the Pentagon that day, there were also many survivors at the Pentagon who were severely injured.
