Where to take ECEs?
#1
The only place to take these exams is at Pearson Testing Centers? The closet one to me is almost an hour away, north of Atlanta. The local colleges aren't offering the ECE. Any suggestions for centers that may offer the exam? Where did you guys take your ECEs?

Thanks!

I can't even find anywhere to take DSST's. I think a local CC might do them by appointment.

I haven't even begun looking at or for ECE's. Sad

Good luck!

Thanks to everyone who provides such awesome information on this site, I'm slowly getting the hang of this crazy process.

Pearson test centers are not usually located in colleges/universities. Plus there are "professional" vs. "authorized" Pearson centers. So you have attempted the "locate a test center" option on the Pearson Vue site for the Excelsior exams? I see that there are test centers listed around Atlanta, easily extending down into Macon, but I have no idea of the traffic considerations for the metro area.

When I took my ECE I lived in Central NJ I could find coleges that Offered CLEP and/or DSST all ove the place. I had to travel over an hour to the one and only Pearson test center I could find. I only took one but you could probably take 2 in one day if you need more then one.

I live near Buffalo now and finding a test center to offer DSST is VERY hard, the one place I found would only do it in pen and paper. I think it all depends on where you live and how many people around there use testing. Here in Buffalo there are so many "Prestigous " colleges no one seems to think much of testing out.

I did not check out the website for this feature when I posted the question. I just checked, and there are many centers authorized to give the exam near me. I haven't called to check on pricing. Thank you for the push in the right direction, BGSU!

Def check with the CC and Tech Schools and 4-year state schools about the DSSTs. There are several in my area (east Atlanta) that offer them.

Hejbelle, the test centers don't determine the pricing for the Excelsior exams. You should be able to find this information on the Pearson Vue site once you create an account (needed in order to schedule a test). Test centers only make extra money if they actually register you for the exam (versus you doing it yourself).
