My name is David, but there are tons of people named David, and that name was usually already taken on boards and login ids, but I'm of Irish heritage and the Irish version of David is Dáithà so I used that but without the accent marks (fadas).
A quick funny story. I was on a poker website and a guy had the screen name of "Farter" and someone asked him why he chose that name. He said, "I didn't. My daughter signed me up and misspelled father."

Not overly imaginative, but SuZQ2 is a combination of my first name - Suzanne - and Q - as in Q-uest for my degree! The number 2 got thrown in there when I was unable to sign in under my original InstantCert name, plain old SuZQ, and had to sign up a second time.

I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan. My name, Arthiel, is one Elvish (Sindarin) translation of my real name, Emily.

Oh, okay, I'll do mine now.
quasar is "A quasi-stellar radio source ("quasar", /ˈkweɪzɑr/) is a very energetic and distant active galactic nucleus. Quasars are extremely luminous and were first identified as being high redshift sources of electromagnetic energy, including radio waves and visible light, that were point-like, similar to stars, rather than extended sources similar to galaxies." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quasar I like space pictures and picked it because I like to think the description fits my own personality. The v s after quasar stands for violin and singing because I like both and have done both.

My real name is John. I've taken a fair amount of language classes over the years. Back in the 50s I was called "Johann" in German class, as that's the correct translation of my name. I've also been "Jean" in French class, "Iohannes" in Latin, "Juan" in Spanish, "Ivan" in Ukrainian, "Giovanni" in Italian class and "Tang Guo Qiang," which was neat, but no kind of direct translation, in Mandarin. Our kind teacher, Ms. Liang, picked that name for me.
