Hey everyone -
I'm back! I took a break because I got burned out. But I have a new wonderful boyfriend and he says I should finish. So I passed Buis Law, Prin of Sociology and just two days ago I got a 60 (passing is 46) on Prin of Supervision (DSST).
Now I am working on my final exam - Money and Banking, which was the only DSST test I failed. I failed by three points last August after studying for a week - I didn't realize it would be on a much harder level than the other DSST exams I took. Now I'm writing EVERYTHING down from instacert and am going to know it cold.
My question for this post is, the last time I took Money and Banking, the DSST exams WERE NOT computerized. So I am assuming this will be a *new* test with *new* questions, correct? (I know the computerized Buis math was different form the written exam). Also, has anyone taken the computerized Money and Banking? How was it?
Many thanks, guys.

Guys,
Ok, I guess I am the guinea pig taking the first computerized Money and Banking DSST this Friday at 1 pm. I'm writing because........
I just found the coolest site - it tells how many people have attempted each DSST exam AND (most importantly) what percentage of people pass each DSST exam (i.e. shows the difficulty level so you can study accordingly!!!) The site is:
DANTES SUBJECT STANDARDIZED TESTS (DSST) VOLUME PASS RATE FY05
And, wow, if you look through it, there is a pretty high pass rate except for:
Money and Banking - only 10% of people pass that attempt it!!! The hardest one!!! So please study for it hard!!!
Principles of Finance - only 15% (I passed this only by one point - sooo hard)
Principles of Statistics - surprisingly 30% pass
Here's the official exam description for Money and Banking:

Please wish me luck - hopefully I will be one of the 10% that pass!!!

I PASSED MONEY AND BANKING!!! Only 10% of people that attempt this exam passed so I am pumped. Plus, it was the only DSST exam I failed so it was a personal victory as well!!!
Ok, yes, I have advice.
Passing was a 48 and I got a 58. The biggest advice I can give you is that YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THE RELATIONSHIPS - all the cause and effect - of monetary policy and fiscal policy. Most of it is on monetary policy. What happens when the Feds conduct monetary policy? How does that affect international trade? Etc.
Also, instacert is very inadequate. When I took this test, I was so grateful for every single definition I looked up and every single internet article I printed and studied.
My advice is to look up definitions and print them off your computer and study them. For example, I found an article written to an 11th grade level on monetary policy and it was SO HELPFUL. Instacert assumes you know how it all works and you need to slow down and really read some lengthy articles on how it all fits together. Once you do that, you should pass.
The time limit was two hours and I finished in about an hour, but took time to review.
My brother is taking it today at 1 pm. I hope he passes as well!

Thanks so much for the feedback! Congratulations on passing the exam! I ended up buying a textbook on the Money & Banking subject. Stuff like this is pretty tough to get through simply through flashcards, so....I'll probably be taking this test within the next week or so.
