Audio Study Resources
#1
I usually study five to eight hours per week.

In my car.

Tresmom asked a question in another thread about VangoNotes for Humanities. Nflight popped up with a follow-up question about audio for American Lit. That sounds like a good excuse to start a thread about... Audio Study Resources! So here it is... I’ll start off with what I have used or am currently working on:

Introductory Sociology – iTunes - Southwest Tennessee Community College (FREE!)

American Literature – Audible.com - Barron’s EZ-101 Study Keys

Humanities – Audible.com – VangoNotes for the Humanities

Macroeconomics – Audible.com – VangoNotes for Principles of Macroeconomics

Microeconomics – Audible.com – VangoNotes for Principles of Microeconomics

Principles of Marketing – Audible.com – VangoNotes for Principles of Marketing

Principles of Management – Audible.com – Vangonotes for Management

Information Systems and Computer Applications – Audible.com – VangoNotes for Information Systems Today

Okay, it's your turn. What audio study resources have YOU used? Please join in and add to the list!

These are the audiobooks Ive used in the past month. Most were to prepare for Eng Lit GRE.

ENG 351: Survey of American Literature II - Dr Clark Closser, Missouri State U - FREE download
ENG 351: Survey of American Literature II - Download free content from Missouri State University on iTunes

American Literature 101 - The TextVook- Dr. Vook, Ph.D- Amazon.com

The Complete Idiot's Guide to American Literature - Amazon.com-

The Complete Idiot's Guide to British Literature - Amazon.com-

Financial and Managerial Accounting - VangoNotes

Organizational Behavior - VangoNotes

British Literature - Barron’s EZ-101 Study Keys- Audible.com

Literature- considered Norton's Lit($$$) but fortunately, the entire text is online so, I've not actually purchased.

FREE AUDIObooks- Most of the classic literature is considered public domain and is available for FREE on most of the following sites:

LibriVox.org

Open Culture

B&N.com for the Nook- search "FREE" for free ebooks. The Nook is free for laptops and smartphones... well, my Android.

Amazon.com search the Kindle search "FREE" for free ebooks- The Kindle is free for laptops and smartphones...again,it is for Android.

Gutenberg.org - The Gutenberg Project

I'm currently obsessed with The Daily Lit DailyLit: Read books online by daily email and RSS feed

They will send you little portions of any classic book of your choosing to your email or RSS, etc., so you get a 45 min portion automatically emailed to you daily, weekly, monthly, as you like.
This month I'm listening to Thoreau's Civil Disobedience while I start coffee and go for quick morning run. It's amazing the added 'reading' I squeeze in this way.

I look forward to the little bite size piece of audio. As with most things, I find I do better with portion control. LOL
And...I think I can I think I can I think I can!!

American Lit- iTunes U- Yale University, The American Novel since 1945, Amy Hungerford.. Not a great study resource, but I found the course really interesting, and it did help me on two CLEP questions Wink

I wanted to add a couple audio resources I found helpful.

Humanities - Instant Genius, The Cheat Sheets of Culture: Philosophy (available at audible.com may be found elsewhere, but I haven't looked). This was very helpful in covering the philosophy part and it was only an hour long.
VangoNotes for Art History was also somewhat helpful although it does have a lot of unneeded info it was useful.

Thanks for the info on VangoNotes, I'd never heard of them before. Does anyone have a good audio source for Abnormal Psychology? That's my next test. I've found I do much better when my reading is enforced by audio. The InstantCert audio on Here's to your Health was a really good resource for me.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.
