Straighterline Proctored Policy Question?
#1
Hi I have a question that I couldn't find the answer for anywhere, and I'm hoping someone can help me out. I payed for a few classes before the proctor policy went into effect along with the $99 a month fee. I paid for all the classes before the Nov 1st deadline because I'm not comfortable with ProctorU as a company. However I planned to pay the $99 a month for about the next 2 months because I planned on starting the new year however a turn of events is making it difficult for me to afford the $99 a month. My question is if I were to unsubscribe would my classes be saved to my account so when I plan to start I can re-enroll for the $99 a month without paying the course fees again and would that allow me to continue the courses unproctored? Thanks so much in advance

My guess is that Straighterline probably won't let you do this. Since you'll stop subscribing, you will need to renew your subscription when the time comes. When you renew it, you'll be subject to their new policy. Maybe they'd be willing to work with you, I'm not sure. It's worth a shot to contact them and ask though.

What classes did you sign up for? Some can be completed in 2 weeks if you work hard.

I spoke to our students advisors to find an answer to your question. While one of the great features at StraighterLine is the flexibility to start and stop whenever you want you must finish the courses concurrently while on the subscription to avoid the proctoring update. If you stop the subscription and come back, your courses are still paid for, however.

Thanks for clearing that up, looks like I'm going to start the courses a bit early to hopefully cut down on paying for future months.
