Hey,
I'm tempted to do a bunch of straighterline for a second bachelor's, but it would be quite difficult for me to get my hands on the relevant textbooks. Do you think I'll be able to complete the course with just the online material, and none of the textbooks?

Sure would be easier with the textbooks...even older versions. Wouldn't SL be a bunch of LL credit?

You certainly can but it is much more difficult. Buy a a used older edition text book on Amazon or somewhere and you'll only be spending $5 or so. The big advantage about textbook vs online materials is that they allow you to use the textbook during the exams. I've noticed that a lot of times the questions on the graded exams come right out of the textbook.
So, yes, it’s possible to do a SL class with out the textbook, it will just be harder.

I'm going to guess and say no though. Reason being is cause if they allowed "online books" a lot folks could interpret that as using google, something I highly doubt is allowed. An actually online textbook, may be allowed. Online resources, may not be. That's my 2 cents, but to get an actual answer contacting SL would be the best route.

Use the books. I purchased some of my textbooks for as low as 0.99 cents. All the questions come straight out of the textbooks. The online "books" offered with the course are just filler material. With the exception on English I & II, the online books are useless. I've completed a load of SL courses. By all means, get used copies of the textbooks.
