Of the History CLEP choices, which is generally the fastest/easiest study/pass?
#11
Thank you for the suggestion and the offer of your notes! I'm not at all familiar with Straighterline...is it a study resource like IC, or is it another testing option such as DSST or CLEP? So far, I've only taken/passed 3 CLEPs...one more, then done!

The REA books for U.S. History are very good. For many of us, that's all we needed. It depends on your learning style.
63 CLEP Sociology
75 CLEP U.S. History II
63 CLEP College Algebra
70 CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature
68 DSST Technical Writing
72 CLEP U.S. History I
77 CLEP College Mathematics
470 DSST Statistics
53 CLEP College Composition
73 CLEP Biology
54 CLEP Chemistry
77 CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications

I've taken all 4. I'd vote for either US 1 or 2, leaning towards 1. Western Civ just covers too great a span of time/peoples for me personally. Hittites, Assyrians, Babylonians, Mongols, Romans, Greeks, Macedonians, Spartans, Egyptians, Athenians...oh my!

I am currently taking the U.S History and I would really like the notes to prepare myself for the midterm and the other 2 exams and the final. Thank you! God bless you.

I ordered and received the REA US History I book last week. I'm about 1/2 done with reading it through (first time). I haven't yet taken any of the practice exams in the book yet. I did start studying IC's flashcards for this topic, however, and so far I'm finding that the book mirrors the flashcards pretty well. The book provides greater detail, though. I think that using these two resources will be a very good foundation. I will check out some of the other online resources such as Sparknotes, etc., too.

How specific is the CLEP regarding the dates of events?

Thanks,
Peach

Just a quick update...I took and passed the US History I CLEP yesterday! Thanks to everyone for posting their study tips and recommendations! I used IC, the latest edition of the official REA Study Guide, Sparknotes, Wikipedia. I can't say that I aced it...got a score of 59...but it serves my purposes just fine. After 30 years, passing yesterday's CLEP, and finishing my current Marketing class this coming week, I'll finally have my Bachelor Degree! Smile
